I'm listening to the Hadestown soundtrack for the first time and about two thirds of the way through I was like "wow this is really good! I hope nothing bad happens to these characters and they get a happy ending!" as if I don't know how the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice goes
Having finished the musical, I have discovered this was the correct attitude to have, as it is directly in line with what Hermes says at the end. Maybe if I listen to a retelling of the myth, there will be a happy ending. Maybe if I hear the story one more time, everything will work out even though I know it won't.

Whoops, should've posted this like two months ago
Waiting for the second book in a series to come from the library and I have been overtaken by the slow creeping dread that two of the main characters who are really close and have known and trusted each other for years might fall in love. Like, is all this stuff about caring about each other a lot actually supposed to signify they have romantic feelings? Did I completely misread the vibe by assuming they had an intense platonic mentor-mentee relationship? I live in fear.
after several minutes of furious calculating, i have figured out that as long as i get a 35/50 or higher on my essay, i can keep my a in the class

Benefits to having a screen protector for your phone include but are not limited to:
1. protects your phone screen from cracking
2. if you accidentally drop your open faced peanut butter and jelly sandwich on your phone, instead of trying to desperately clean half your phone with a napkin that keeps getting stuck to the Very sticky amalgamation of fruit and nut butter and making the problem worse you can just strip off the screen protector and then you have much less to wipe off
why don't the catholics have a venerated saint of yuri
just binged all of the amazing digital circus (all of the episodes that are out rn anyway) for the first time and it was absolutely agonizing watching the beach episode while already familiar with the chinese room thought expirement

Do you recognize this TV theme song? #419
I know this and can name the series
I know this but can't name the series
I might know this
I've never heard this
@comicaurora this may be of interest to you
just from getting tagged I knew immediately what it was going to be
Feels dishonest to vote bc on the one hand I've never heard that before in my life, but on the other hand, I knew exactly what it was immediately solely bc Red had reblogged it
thinking about the implications and ramifications of the fmab seven deadly sins in a world that does not appear to have catholicism. did some other religion come up with the concept? bc i would love that lore. i can't remember if anyone ever looks at the homunculi and goes "oh hey they embody the seven deadly sins" but if nobody does then ig it's possible father came up with them all on his own and no one has any idea what he's talking about. Interesting that the seven deadly sins are so ubiquitous that it doesn't even seem that odd or incongruous for the concept to exist in a world without catholicism.
Started Frankenstein, and he keeps talking about how it was fate and destiny that led him to commit horrific acts of scientific hubris ultimately ending with his downfall, but like. I feel like if even a single professor at that university knew what he was doing at least some of this disaster could have been avoided
Y'know what really fries my rice?
shrimp.
this last week with the superbowl was interesting bc I could not tell you who was playing and I have no idea who won now, but I sure as hell know who was playing the half time show and how everyone and their mother felt about it
