Okay so, I got this ad on YouTube and in the first 30 sec, I swear I was being sold pizza though that might just be because I'm high. Turns out it's a romcom under the premise of two people in a fictional NYC """are the only ones looking for more than sex""" on the one night a year every single person is allowed to have sex.
I saw this ad like 30 min or more ago, but it is stuck in my head because I have so many fucking questions about the world.
Is this supposed to be satire? Or saying something about being ace-spect?? Or, more realistically, are the allosexuals just being fucking weird again??
Now for the questions that are about the in-movie world
Why one night?
Is it for some biological reason, political, religious???
If biological, I'm very curious how biology was impacted and how close this has brought humanity to omegaverse with heat and rut? Or if it would lead to that as biology continues to progress.
If it did, have we reached whole world is in heat and rut at the same time? That would be fucking wild. How important does that make "betas"?
Would that make ace people/people with low libido/abstent/chaste people/people with sex effecting health issues the "betas"?????
What effect does this have on couples?
If political, why? I'm guessing religious, but the movie probably wouldn't be overt about that.
So how is the government tracking and enforcing this? Like how ya dystopia has the world gotten in efforts to eliminate single people from fucking most of the year???
How have the SWs begun to work around this?
Seriously is there like some kind of implant they give everyone??
And if it is an implant, when do they? Like if it's religious do they do it at 18? Cause then there's gonna be a thriving teen sex vulture. Also this will continue to push sex nerds into tech so they can fuck with the implants.
This also makes me have so many questions about what acts have become more erotic and queer as a result of the limitations
Also is this like a soaking situation isn't sex situation? Like where is the boundary? Did they get more open with their definition and let it include hand, mouth, and anal stuff?
What are the punishments?!?
How do the laws effect couples? And are polycules, swinging and non-monogamy allowed? Are there like rules and codes about this?
I definitely have more questions somewhere in my brain, but mostly I still want pizza.
Also the movie is called One Night Only, if you see the trailer for it, did it make you want pizza too?
yes
no
yes, I have questions too
no, I have questions too
I don't like pizza
I don't like pizza and I have questions
ALSO ALSO ALSO, I almost forgot that the cast lists Levar Burton, Molly Ringwald, and King Princess is the fucking cast. And that does make me lean more towards it being satire or queer somehow, but like... I doubt it, y'all. It's also listed as a romcom on IMDB
