it's so annoying how contradictory the btvs writers were about the soul lore sometimes. like everybody wants to be mad at spike for his pre-soul actions but angel is allegedly a whole completely different guy with a soul and nobody's mad at him for all the creepy massacres he's done in the past and goes immediately back to doing whenever his soul gets temporarily misplaced. how is he always talking about guilt and amends and all while simultaneously claiming that "angelus" is the one at fault and isn't him and you can tell because his name is two letters shorter 🙄
