religion is so fucking funny the world is just too beautiful there must be a higher entity behind all this. lets oppress women
I wish people talked about how alienating it is to be butch and bisexual.
Almost everyone acts as if it's only lesbians who can be butches and even the lesbians who know that butch is not exclusive to them don't bother educating fellow lesbians. It's up to us and when we do try to educate others, we get harassed by terfs and exclusionists saying that we are "stealing lesbian culture" as if bisexuals weren't right beside yall helping build butch femme culture.
Heck even the butch bisexuals who are vocally active in the butch side of the internet don't call themselves bisexual and butch proudly in fear of getting harassed for being openly themselves. It's so fucking sad. I wish we had more solidarity. From lesbians, other queer people and especially other bisexuals. I wish I wasn't made to feel so isolated from the community that is supposed to be accepting of me.
while twitter focuses on "who can be butch/femme" and "what can a butch/femme do?", tumblr focuses a lot on the sexual side and while i do understand these are part of our identities i feel like the biggest part of it (being a working class and sociopolitical identity) gets ignored a lot in favor of treating each other as a dating pool only or repackaging traditional gender roles into butchfemme spaces

hey by the way. disability does not automatically equal pain and suffering. being disabled does not automatically mean you're better off dead. are there disabilities that are objectively painful and cause suffering? yes. are there individual disabled people who wish they were dead? also yes. but on the whole, able-bodied people vastly underestimate our quality of life.
i have chronic pain and fatigue likely to be diagnosed as fibromyalgia. i have sensory issues that impact me to the point that i'm only comfortable going outside at night. i'm also treatment resistant -- medications, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, and other things i've tried have little to no effect.
but i'm pursuing a degree and a career. i have passions and interests and life goals. i have very little social life, but there are people on the internet who like my silly little words and art. i have a partner i'm marrying in 6 months. do i suffer? sure, sometimes, but who alive hasn't? who gets to decide what the cutoff between "low enough suffering to justify living" and "suffering so much non-existence is the only option" is?
which is all to say: bringing disabled people into the world is not "cruel". disabled people going about our lives is not sad or pitiable. we do not need to medically kill ourselves to be happy. we are fucking people.
need.
