Me with everything in life
This is how all humans are with everything in life. Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to conceive.
Focus is on current physical & mental state...what else is off with this pretty meme of mindfulness?
People are busy making an “I,” and thus making “others.” Some never see through this dark cloud; they don’t see the arrow. For those who have seen the arrow There’s no “I am doing;” What’s more, there’s no “You are doing.” People are possessed by comparisons, fettered by comparisons, bound by comparisons Deluded, they injure with their speech; they don’t get beyond wandering in circles. I just got back from my first 10 day Vipassana silent meditation retreat. It was BY FAR the most powerful and transformative experience of my life. No doubt about it. It is SUCH hard work. 12 hours a day of silent meditation, letting all of the discomforts you are usually avoiding fill your whole...

Will we all "wake up" to the present moment?
1-What direction do I see the world going? Towards the present moment. 2-What is my take on the situations we are facing today? There are five situations I can see right now that we face: a-the situation when we want something, b-the situation when we don't want something c-the situation when we neither want something or don't want something. d-the situation when we are unaware of this something so there is no desire. e-The situation of how much one has tamed and knows body and mind. 3-How do I think these situations will impact the future? We never had much of the "e" part but more and more minds are opening to the fact that one can free themselves from mental suffering in this life through wisdom. 4-How will we have to adjust in order to stay in tune with these things? See things as they are(meaning without concepts) in the present moment with no judgments or views about anything all the time as much as we can and remember virtue really, really is it's own reward.

What if all women were bigger and stronger than you? And thought they were smarter? What if women were the ones who started wars? What if too many of your friends had been raped by women wielding giant dildos and no K-Y Jelly? What if the state trooper who pulled you over on the New Jersey Turnpike was a woman and carried a gun? What if the ability to menstruate was the prerequisite for most high-paying jobs? What if your attractiveness to women depended on the size of your penis? What if every time women saw you they’d hoot and make jerking motions with their hands? What if women were always making jokes about how ugly penises are and how bad sperm tastes? What if you had to explain what’s wrong with your car to big sweaty women with greasy hands who stared at your crotch in a garage where you are surrounded by posters of naked men with hard-ons? What if men’s magazines featured cover photos of 14-year-old boys with socks tucked into the front of their jeans and articles like: “How to tell if your wife is unfaithful” or “What your doctor won’t tell you about your prostate” or “The truth about impotence”? What if the doctor who examined your prostate was a woman and called you “Honey”? What if you had to inhale your boss’ stale cigar breath as she insisted that sleeping with her was part of the job? What if you couldn’t get away because the company dress code required you wear shoes designed to keep you from running? And what if after all that women still wanted you to love them?

Some guidelines I have been following and practicing for a good two years now. As I practice I suffer less than I normal would if I wasn't practicing and I am preparing myself for when I have intense suffering, I will be way better prepared to transcend the pain.
Anyway, the Buddha’s Teachings are very suitable for one who is seeking peace and happiness by letting go of everything that we want and accepting what we don't want. We cultivate metta, meaning boundless friendliness for all beings and karuna meaning compassion for the suffering of others.
