Dad died a couple weeks ago, not unexpectedly at 86. Mom had gone a few years before. I’m going through some boxes in his attic and I find this old photo: my dad as a teenager on the left and his lifelong buddy Ken on the right. I remember Dad and Ken would always go on a long fishing trip a couple times a year, and now that I think about it, Ken was a lot more broken up at the viewing than I expected.
