“This isn’t too bad, is it?” Carl mustered a smile as he watched couples twirl about here and there. Sure, it was a bit intimidating, but it was still exciting nonetheless. Plus, any extra time he was able to spend with Wren was time he considered well spent. “I know you didn’t want to dance with anyone but me, so that means you owe me a dance.” He definitely thought he was smooth with that line. He chuckled softly before he extended his hand out to his girlfriend, offering her a mock bow as if he was in some period film. “My lady,” he teased.
“It’s okay.” Although balls were never her thing, it seemed that someone always put her on duty whenever there was an upcoming ball. But instead of protesting this time, Wren accepted it, and when Carl asked her to go, she’d gladly said yes. However, she’d given him a condition: she wanted to dance with him and him alone. Even though she wasn’t great at dancing, she still was slightly excited to dance with the taller male. At Carl’s gesture, the tiniest of smiles made its way onto Wren’s lips, and she took his hand.
