The absolute worst of his actions (eg, Trying to kill his own son) were not fully of his own choice. 2: Kazuya has changed his last name to his mother's maiden name.

❝ I'm surprised I didn't receive any punishment, ❞ Jin said solemnly. It's not that he wanted to be hard on himself anymore. He was learning to avoid putting himself down. But there was still no denying that Abaddon had caused countless tragedy to the earth. Jin wasn't speaking in a detrimental manner, he was only speaking realistically. ❝ I guess it's because I saved the world. Still, I would think the people would want Abaddon to pay regardless. ❞

Jin took the envelopes, staring at them, but he hadn't opened them quite yet. For some reason, his hands felt weak. They disobeyed his commands. It was surreal. For the longest time, he wanted nothing more to kill Kazuya Mishima. In fact, that was what he devoted his entire life to. To ending the Mishima lifeline, and then himself.

Yet now the thought of Kazuya dying wasn't so satisfying. Maybe he really had let go of all the hate in his heart.

❝ Wait a second — ❞ He suddenly spoke, raising his hand to catch the older man's attention. ❝ It . . . means a lot. That you're going through with this instead of hiding. It's the right thing to do, y'know. ❞

"Most likely because your situation is..quite different from anything before. There isn't exactly much legal precendt for one half of a being completely innocent of what another did." Unlike himself and Belial, Jin truly had done nothing wrong and as he pointed out, imediately saved the world once back in control. How could any legal enity punish one without unjustly hurting the other? No wonder most just left the two be. "No doubt they do want him to pay, But how can they make him,without making you suffer? It's quite a moral quandry."

Kazuya stopped mid leaving however, a brow raised in surpise. He never expected tha Jin would speak so positivelyto him. Let alone for this. From the moment they met, his aon despised him. Understandably considering how much Belial had hurt him while wearing Kazuya's face. Alongside his own sins.

"I know, it..is the least I can do after..everything." He sounded almost uncomfortable, not towards Jin but to himself.

The statement made something click at the back of his mind. It hadn’t been the first time he had been compared to Jinpachi Mishima. He recalled Master Wang observing something similar; at the time, Lars didn’t think much of the scrutiny. His eyes reminded him of a man he knew—perhaps Heihachi himself, or truly, his grandfather. The soldier prayed it was moreso the latter.

“Balance is what drives away chaos. Those of us with power have a duty to maintain that.”

Many would disagree with him, believing that those without were in such a position of their own volition. That they were a population to be led, abused, and beat into submission. Lars felt differently.

“What one man destroyed, one can rebuild,” Lars offered, “or better yet, several. What direction our bloodline goes from here is in our control.”

"Even if it takes some of us..namely myself far too long to realise that." Kazuya agreed with Lars' statement, he had caused enough chaos to last multipile lifetimes. Enough that he was certain Jimpachi would be ashamed of him. Yet glad that he was taking the steps towards redemption. A long path it'd be, but his younger half brother's words reminded him that it wasn't a path he'd walk in solitude. For some reason they had all saw fit to give him this second chance. One that he will not squander.

"Agreed, the future is in our hands. Whatever curse there was, has washed away. Between Chaolan's small horde and your own bright sparks. In time the Mishima name will cleansed." There was a rare, genuine smile on the eldest son's face. He genuinely belived that the two were already great fathers.

"...tch. they have decent forces. But most Azazael infused." He mumbles, holding up the binoculars to his eyes for a moment before breathing out. He still remembers the rib Shattering from the first time he had tried this...

"Hmph they shall fall apart then once pur forces arrive." Kazuya remarked before looking concerned. His fatherly instincts were telling him something was amiss. "My son, you so go back to the hospital, you don't sound as recovered as you claim."

"...Location, yes. Forces, not yet. Today i was planning to scan out the forces, figure out what I might need on the side. What I may need to finally finish this...or if I let Uriel take hold and just nuke the assholes sky high..."

He would breathe out, pointing at his own head when mentioning Uriel. Seems he also had a voice speaking to him a lot..

"Save Uriel's strength for fights that are worth it." Kazuya inclined his head, then looked to a guilty Ai. "Same for Lilith. Our devils or angel shouldn't need to step in unless necessary."

"..Yes father, but then what shall we do to save Ellie?"

"We will first head to the hotel were your mother is were you will apologise to her for causing such worry and upset. Then we will call your uncle Chaolan and he will send in forces to join us in extracting Ellie and any other innocents." , by the sound of Kazuya's voice this wasn't something either of the youngster could negotiate against.

"and I cannot watch her be held by that madman. That....that man. He was at the first assault I tried. The one that lost...so many. He must be using more then just her now then...and even then, they are all my burden. All my faults." He breathes out.

"I doubt anyone would've believed me. I could barely do so myself. I would've asked but I felt it was my responsibility..."

"And they could take you from us and use you in turn. They are not your burdens, faults or whatever else your mind is telling you. You are just one young man. To try and do this all on your own is simply repeating the same thing that started this mess." Kazuya didn't intend to sound harsh, but he didn't know what else he could do or say to try and get through to North. The youth could be as hard headed as his grandfather.

"This isn't your responsibility alone. Please North, think this through, do you even know their location or have you been walking in circles?"

"I'm getting her back." He moves to sidestep it. He's not going back. He can't. He promised himself he wouldn't, not without Ellie.

"All my mistakes. All my choices. I apologize for that but I do not apologize for going to get back someone who was my responsibility from the clutches of a madman." His voice is calm even as he regains a defensive stance.

"I cannot...I will not. That is on my name. That is my oath. And that is the promise I made to her when I saw her again."

"and what if I lose you?!" Kazuya snapped and stepped forward. This time he truly wasn't going to let North continue to act out like this. His couldn't bare any more terror over his children's safety anymore. "you are my children, my entire world. The thought of you getting hurt or killed fills me with dread. The thought of those madmen near you.." He paused, trying to reign in his emotions.

"While Ellie was dear to me too and if you had just asked, I would have helped, I've have spared no expense if there is proof of her survival. But I can't help if you keep going off on your own."

"...yeah right, dad ain't doing shit. I saw Ellie this time. I know...I KNOW...I know i saw her." He clenches his fist as he heads to the outer regions of Europe.

Speaking of the devil, He was right behind North, a fact his sister Ai was trying to silently warn the blonde about but..

"Kazamas Ai and North...You are both in HUGE trouble." Kazuya's voice was stern and strained. He and Jun had been worried sick since the moment he had found that note. He'd aim to grip their shoulders, not in a painful manner, but to show that he was not in the mood for any attempt at them running. "You have five minutes to explain before I drag you both back to your mother. Do you know how much pain and turmoil you have caused her?"

"…A few weeks after my father tossed me off that cliff. This young, nobody of a man tried to defy him and take me away from the hell I was in." It wasn't something he usually talked about, but today he couldn't seem to shake the memory away from his mind. "I'd saw him only once before, he didn't have the best intentions then. But at that moment. He saw a child in agony and past the illusion of care Heihachi projected. That man gave everything he had to the fight.."

"..and he died for it. I stopped trying to find help after."

"It feels very fitting that Chaolan's birthday is also international cat day." He then goes to dot Ichigo and Yuji's little kitty heads with kisses. "Will we all go to give your uncle presents?"

A note is on Kazuya's desk. It has the symbol of the Mishima on it.

If he were to open it, this letter would be in front of him:

"Father,

I snuck out again. This time, managed to evade everyone. Everyone who could stop me from doing what I need to do. The two things, that is.

I swear I saw her on a security camera in eastern Europe...Ellie's alive. And I have to find her. But I also saw....him. Azazel. He has some sort of human appearance now, hiding in plain sight, but I could see off the energy he had he's back. And this time...this time, he ain't getting away.

I'll be safe. Just me, this metal arm, Uriel and my Angelic powers. Trust me. I'll get her back to us."

And signed at the bottom...

"North Mishima, Youngest in the Line"

By the time he had finished reading the letter, Kazuya was already half way out of the house after hurriedly getting the rest of the family in on what happened. He knew this had to be some sort of trick by Azzael's followers. Ellie was gone. Ellie was human, she couldn't return form the dead like those with Hachijo blood. His son was walking right into a trap and yet AGAIN, he was risking his life by going alone.

It made Kazuya equal parts worried sick and angry.

Heading to a private jet Chaolan had sent to Yakusima, All Kazuya could think of was just how grounded that man was going to be if Jun didn't get to him first.

Duplicate anxiety is valid but y'all gotta learn to cope with that in a way that does not involve policing other people's content/policing who your mutuals write with. Plz learn how to handle your duplicate anxiety before it becomes harmful, because then people will actively avoid you and actually write with other duplicates written by less childish muns.

my favorite genre of fictional character is like "i am terrifying to almost everyone, i'm very good at killing, i can endure anything, i've become exceptionally good at playing into my reputation, and if you try to give me positive social interaction i will react with confusion and cower in a corner like an abused animal. and i may try to shoot you. but there is also a chance i may imprint on you like a feral dog receiving its first loving touch! good luck."
