But on a serious note, heres a quick life update (that unfortunately is just more bad news. Unless you want me dead, then its fantastic news):

I’ve developed lung cancer type 3c, which means that the cancer how started spreading further away from my lungs but has yet to hit any vital organs from what doctors have concluded. Which is good, because my heart is literally right there, and my chest pains have been making it hard to breathe. But is also bad, because 3c decreases my survival rate from ~40% to around ~20%. Not to mention the coughing up blood and vomiting and yada yada. I got out of the hospital last week, but now I’m back here again, and instead of 1 chemo session a day I have 2 on top of immuno sessions which all take foreverrrrrr. Despite the fatigue however, I have nothing to do since I literally can not take my exams, so maybe I’ll draw more. Or not because of how tired I am and the iv drip that’s basically always on my hand. Who knows! I can barely sleep anyway because theres so much noise in the hospital ranging from heart monitors to kids screaming like their life is on the line during a dentist appointment (why is that next to the cancer patients???? What were they thinking??) so I’ve been drawing during that time. Sorry if this paragraph is a mess and sorry for not really having any good news. However I think I’ll make it through pride month. Not because I’m hopeful but because I cant let the homophobic cancer win

I love creepy horrifying murderous Will so much and I also love the idea of Montresor finding out and being scared out of his mind. Flip the script on that cowboy and terrify him half to death

RIGHT?? I especially love that Will’s specific kind of body horror makes him involves a kind of resurrection, and how that plays into Monty’s religious trauma in a kind of Jesus parallel?? I might be overworking the metaphor here but I feel like there’s also potential in “he died for your sins” — Monty would probably never be able to love Will in a way that is healthy, but Will doesn’t care because his devotion is unconditional. He’ll take all of Monty’s worst parts and love him even more. He’ll always be there, no matter how many times Monty betrays him, ignores him, etc.

ANYWAYS in lieu of the ten page essay I could write on them, have this art lmao 💗💗 I love the idea of Will as a bloodhound, just so perceptive to every change in Montresor, and when he bleeds…you can bet he’ll want to lick his wounds clean 👀

Something that irks me is whenever someone asks for an explanation as to why someone could possibly like Montresor/have him as a favorite. Not that asking for an explanation is anything bad, trying to garner other perspectives is a good thing, but it’s usually in bad faith like “wtf how could you possibly like him !! He sucks !! He has fans…?!”

It’s specifically with Montresor. His fans don’t owe anyone an explanation anyways and can like him for any reason

good practical reflection for artists who feel like whatever theyre making just isnt working is the sit down and VERY HONESTLY ask yourself: what is the gift here? it can be a lot of things. what am i giving to myself? to the world? what feeling? what expression? art that resonates is art that GIVES

i think this is part of why theres such a disconnect for people who try to make 'art with ai.' if you REALLY ask yourself 'what is my gift here with this ai art?' the answer is nothing. no story to give, or real feeling, or new idea. then these folks they are confused when it doesnt resonate

time and attention are VERY precious. why would an audience give you one of the most existentially valuable things in the universe, their time, if they know you are not a giver in return? EVEN if it means you are giving back to yourself and writing for an audience of one. YOU STILL GOTTA BRING A GIFT
