We can never find what we're looking for, because we'll never know what that is. We never get that satisfied, end-of-journey sensation; we're left bereft and empty, wanting, needing SOMETHING. Self can never satisfy self. Once we come to terms with not knowing what we want or need we can see more clearly what we have. That's the closest we may come to that end-of-journey sensation, that return to hearth and home sigh of relief, to peace. Ironically, it's in that space, in those brief moments of clarity, that we truly unlock our potential and find what we seek. You know this truth, you see it in everyday reality. When do you find something you've lost? Your wallet, your car keys? It's when you stop looking, and realize it was never lost at all.

How Would We Report on the Government Shutdown if It Were Happening in Another Country?

What I really love about this article is that it doesn't explicitly take sides. Rather than engaging in petty gossip about whose fault is whose, Joshua Keating steps back and considers how the very media that is currently taking it all SO SERIOUSLY would view the same "shutdown" if it happened in say- Israel/Palestine.  -M
