Hi, this is basically just a place to post my art and writing sometimes!
My main art tag will be #drewnj and my writing tag is TBA. But will most likely differ on what i write!
Unfortunately, I cannot draw things the same every time, so there will be tiny changes. And I also have not written in a while, so my writing might be a little rusty.
Also this is a sideblog, so i won't be able to follow people.
You'll also often see me reblogging stuff from my @weekly-cocoapowder blog.
I block freely! Proshitters DNI.

Stargazing
Markus sat on the porch of his house in Monster Town. Legs tucked close to his chest as he held on and watched the night sky twinkle.
Stars.
They were way more beautiful than the ones he saw in Waterfall while he was still alive underground. Well, granted - those weren’t really stars.
In fact, the ones on the surface were so different. So much more interesting. Millions of little lights in the sky that moved, twinkled and disappeared by dawn. They were so much more beautiful.
He was mesmerized by them. Ever since he was brought back to life, and when Frisk freed the monsters. Even back when they lived back out in the tents, he'd sit and watch them until he was called back in.
He had never seen real stars before then.
“stayin’ outside again, kiddo?”
Markus turned his head to the side to see the skeleton. His brothers already knew he liked to stay out and watch the stars sometimes. It was a little ritual he had.
Sometimes the two skeletons would join him.
Markus didn’t need to say anything else and turned back to the sky as Sans gave a sigh and sat down next to him, his bones creaking when he did so.
“Just watching the stars.” He did say after a while, his hands moving away to sign while speaking, he stretched his legs.
“pretty cool, ain’t they?” the skeleton replied, his eyes moving away from Markus to the night sky. “we ought to take ya to a planetarium or somethin’ with how much time you spend watchin’ ‘em.”
Markus snorts.
It was silent for a bit. It wasn’t heavy or uncomfortable silence though. Just two people enjoying the quietness and each other’s company.
After a moment, Markus breaks it. “I think I’d like that.”
“hm?”
“Going to a planetarium to see stars, I mean.”
Sans looked at him. Really looked at him. His little brother was a human that he and Papyrus lost years ago due to him giving up his soul and then coming back to life months prior. He changed. More than Sans cared to admit.
Yet, his fascination with stars stayed the same over the years. Sans remembers younger Markus pestering him about his science books and to tell him more about the stars.
“heh.” He lets out, turning his gaze away once again. “i knew you would.”
“Sans, Markus?” Papyrus appeared in the doorway, not long after calling out to both of his brothers. “Are you two out there stargazing?”
Sans winked. “welp. looks like you caught us, bro.”
“Sorry, Paps.” Markus apologized with a small smile on his face. “We thought you were too busy being a cool guy.”
“I just came to tell you that I am done with dinner!” Papyrus exclaimed then he sat down on the porch to the other side of Markus. “But if you’re busy stargazing, I have no choice but to join you, I’m never too busy for my brothers!”
“You’re the coolest, Paps, and you’re exactly what this needed.” Markus grins at the tall skeleton, before leaning against him.
Papyrus, too, hated to admit how much Markus has grown. But he loved being Markus’ big brother all the same. Watching him grow up was a privilege.
“This is definitely a great brotherly bonding moment!” Papyrus agreed, wrapping an arm around Markus.
Then Sans leaned against Markus with his full height letting the human let out an “oof!”.
Yeah. Stargazing with his brothers was always a treat and where Markus would want to be.
Some backstory below for this guy along with headcanons for him :)
Birthday? Adoption Day: December 17th
Communication Style: ASL and speech, though he prefers signing - does Sim-com often post-revival in Pacifist ending.
Backstory: I'm gonna get murdered by the fandom probably?
Soul trait: Bravery
Family: Aster (father), Sans (oldest brother) and papyrus (older brother)
So, Markus fell when he was very young, it is unknown how but he was 2 years old. He might've just wandered out as a young toddler and fell down a hole. His parents were probably not watching their deaf young toddler.
Flowey saw him fall and decided, since he was really young and defendless, that he doesn't want goat mom to find him. Even though the toddler didn't seem to react to sounds or his threats.
So, he took him somewhere else - which ended up being New Home, and planned to end him right there but then... Sans appeared and he was forced to flee.
It was Sans who found him. He first planned to take his soul and bring it to the king but... after fully looking at the kid, he didn't.
He brought the toddler home in New Home to his younger brother - papyrus. They all already spoke in hands and in ASL - legacy from their father, so they taught the kid as well and adopted him as a younger brother.
It was all fine, they all hoped it was fine at least. One day, Papyrus dropped something and a loud noise went off. Markus didn't react and it was clear something was wrong with the 4 year old.
They took him to Alphys, who found out he has a bilateral severe hearing loss. It didn't change much, really - monsters know ASL and Markus already knew it. So, they could communicate just fine.
But Alphys made him his burgundy hearing aids, it took a few weeks to get it right, and then also aided him with speech therapy... not to fix him but to give him an advantage in life.
Markus hated speech therapy, so Alphys and his brothers had to bribe him with stickers and anime to get the 4 year old to sit still.
Life went on, there was nothing major in his life. Other than... a certain flower visiting him and talking to him a lot when he was alone. He talked to him a lot since Markus could speak, gave him stickers and brought him gifts.
Markus saw him as a friend – even with Flowey trying to manipulate him - unkowingly to Markus for some time.
When he was 11, Markus finally found out why being called a girl and she/her felt so wrong after talking with Alphys, who told her about her own experiences as a trans woman and explaining stuff to him. He finds out that he's a boy.
He was very scared to come out to his brothers but Sans just winked at him and was like, "about time you told us." and Papyrus started yelling about how he gets two brothers. He teared up and they all had a big hug.
When he picked his name, it was from one of Papyrus' old hero comic books with one hero that was named Markus. He liked the name, felt like it fit him and immediatedly told his brothers excitedly.
Everyone else he knew adjusted pretty quickly after that.
However, don't think Markus hasn't noticed how monsters felt about being trapped down there. The weariness, crowding, lack of sunlight. Flowey was right, he had to do something about it. But not in the way the flower trying to manipulate him for years wanted him to.
And so, when he was 13. He made the decision to give up his soul. The monsters only needed 3 more by now. It was ultimately his choice, even if it was guided by a certain flower.
When he told Sans, the skeleton was trying to talk him out of it. But Markus eventually convinced him to go along with him and that Papyrus couldn't know, Sans would make up a lie, so he gave up his soul.
Markus could swear he heard someone telling him to rest well before he fully passed away due to giving up his soul... but it was after Sans left to bring it to Asgore.
He spent months– maybe years– in the void, he wasn't sure. Time really didn't pass there.
He was brought back when Frisk fell and spent time following them and joking around along with Chara and Clover as ghosts.
When Frisk met Flowey, he and Clover had different reactions. Clover was confused - that didnt seem like the flower who helped them and saved for them on their journey - but Markus tilted his head like, "go figures."
When Frisk reached Snowdin and Markus saw his brothers, he went really quiet and melancholy, seemed to be reminiscing a lot.
Then Frisk found the manly bandana and Markus screamed, because who drew muscles on his favorite bandana after he died?! HOW DARE THEY!
Anyway, stuff went on. And Frisk ended up hanging out with Papyrus, Markus stayed quit during the whole thing while Chara and Clover chatted. The same thing when Frisk hung out with Sans.
Frisk asked Markus what's wrong and he just shrugged it off, telling them it's nothing. And the journey continued, Markus seemingly lost in thought every time he saw the skeletons.
Later, Markus came clean about it after both Papyrus and Undyne gave hints about him. The three companions were surprised by his story.
The story continues as normal with some story aspects from UT RED AND YELLOW.
Then in Asriel's final battle… Frisk saves Clover and Markus as lost souls after saving their friends as lost souls.
With the barrier broken, two of the souls - bravery and justice return to Markus and Clover and the two wake up in their coffins, confused and push the lids up, and they recognized each other and were surprised.
But… it was only the two of em. The other four children didn't come to life. Markus and Clover carry guilt from that.
When going back at the start of ruins and seeing Asriel about to turn back into Flowey… having learned who he was and both knowing him during their time alive… both Clover and Markus make the decision to give him half of their souls.
But they can't decide who would give him the soul… so, like true self-sacrificial idiots who gave up their souls for monsterkind before, they each shove half of their soul in.
It worked. Asriel was alive and no longer flowey.
Frisk runs there and finds out the three all alive and immediatedly brings everyone to meet with their families on the surface.
When Sans and Papyrus saw Markus, they froze. Then teared up. So did Markus. There was a lot of crying and hugging.
(Toriel and Asgore did the same with Asriel - and later, Chara [revived by frisk giving them half of their soul], same thing happened with Clover and their wild east family. There was a lot of tears and hugs, okay.)
Later, Sans and Papyrus gifted Markus an orange scarf and a blue jacket that's similar to the one each skeleton has. Markus wears it always.

HEADCANONS! or well, canons because he is an OC!
Sometime after Monster Town was built and he was visitting Ceroba's home, he got intrigued and mesmerized by the noise the suzu bells made. Ceroba, seeing this, took one and tied it around his wrist as a gift. Now, he and Clover matched.
He had Papyrus cut his hair short after coming back. Back in the tents of MT. Ebott before Monster Town was built. It was uneven and messy but he loved it.
Naturally left-handed. Started using his right hand for signing and moving it more after getting the bell since he likes hearing the bell making the sounds.
Allergic to peanut butter, paracetamol and strawberries
the first two could kill him but strawberries give him hives, stomach ache and make his tongue tingle.
Adding onto this, he's self-sacrifical like always and can and will take them just to appease someone to not make the person uncomfortable. Has to be stopped.
Springle doctors refused him puberty blockers, said he was "too old", so he had to wait until 18 unfortunately.
Goes to therapy - both due to his self-sacrifical tendencies, unpack stuff and for navigating gender dysphoria and help with it.
Sans got him his first binder not long after Markus came out in New Home. His binders were hidden in the house after he died and then dug out after he came back.
Markus got his period not long after coming back. He was panicked, his brothers were panicked. Alphys was called to explain and then Toriel came over to help him with taking care of it.
Markus has these episodes of dissociation where he seemingly stares into nothing. Leftover from being stuck in the jar. Mostly triggered by too much quiet and darkness.
He tends to copy his brothers a lot. Sometimes posing like Papyrus and sometimes posing like Sans.
When he's older - 16 and up - his style is very different. He leaves the jacket around his waist and scarf tied around his arm when hes 16 but at 18 it is in his closet as a keep sake.
His style is alternative, grunge. He wears dark clothes with ripped jeans, stripped long sleeves shirts under dark short sleeved. Lots of skeleton motifs and puns. He still wears the bell around his wrist.
He wanted to help Sans pay bills at 13. But couldn't. Sans worked odd jobs and Papyrus often helped Frisk with ambassador stuff, they had enough to get by but Markus wanted to help.
So when he's 16, he starts working at Grillby's restaurant part-time as a waiter.
At 13, few months after breaking the barrier, Markus discovers he has pyrokinesis. On accident. While he got angry about something.
Toriel explained it was advanced Bravery soul magic that most people never unlock. Markus was disappointed it wasn't bones like his brothers but the skeletons reassured him. And he joined the training sessions with the others, to learn to control it.
Magic includes; pyrokinesis,
Due to his hearing loss, Markus takes hearing breaks. People have to sign to him during them. And get his attention by carefully tapping on his shoulder, flickering lights, stomping or other ways with vibrations.
He found out he's gray ace at 16 when he would experience sexual attraction sometimes and then it would disappear sometimes. He thought he was broken or something but research showed he was gray ace-spec.
Some headcanons below because all of these from the AU gets some. :D
He was given two halves of a soul from Markus (OC) and Clover post-pacifist ending. The two of 'em didn't discuss it or anything, they shoved it in and hoped for the best. Which luckily has happened.
His gender is weird after being a flower. They're still a boy but go by he/they pronouns instead. It feels much better after everything.
Asriel is often overwhelmed with emotions after not feeling for so long. They go to a therapist due to that.
Adding up to the above- it's not only due to feeling Their own emotions. They also feel Markus' and Clover's at the bottom of his soul. So it became extra overwhelming for all three, since all three feel each other emotions.
They feel angry a lot more than any other emotion, it scares them. It's a lingering emotion they feel from the time spent as Flowey a lot. His therapist encourages him to feel and supports him however he can.
He matches the undershirt with Chara. Because they're both the siblings ever.
He found out he's pansexual on the surface. He knew what his sexuality was but monsters never used words for it, he found the name of it on the human internet.
They died when he was 13, a year younger than Chara. They came back to life as a 13 year old.
They're also 49 days younger than Clover, being born May 1st. And 7 months older than Markus. They're all thirteen.
The five of 'em are platonic soulmates wow
He's 5'2 at thirteen years old.
Him (and Also Chara) know ASL and are quite great in it. Because it is a language most monster underground know and speak to now.
Lots of soul checks up along with the other two (and Frisk and Chara because they share a soul too) in Alphys' house. To make sure their souls are all holding up well.
Cried a lot when reuniting with his parents. So did his parents. Chara ALMOST cried when they reunited.
Lives with Toriel more than Asgore along with Frisk and Chara. The three often visit their dad.
Left-handed.
Magic includes; pyrokinesis, chaos sabers fueled by bravery and justice and star attacks.
Here's Frank... Fronk... Frink?? Frask?? Close enough. 3/5
Post-pacifist Frisk wears the first three outfits they grab in their closet. Their outfits are chaotic and usually not the same except when they wear their pre-fall outfit.
Some headcanons below! Will add more if I remember.
Frisk has PAIS and aromatase excess syndrome. When they were born and it was found out, their parents abandoned them. The orphanage they were at refused to assign them a gender. They were always just Frisk. Went by name instead of any pronouns.
The orphanage gave them a different name, they don't remember what it was anymore. They made up the name 'Frisk' when they fell.
Orphanage was... fine. It wasn't great or bad, it was just fine. I mean, it was cramped a lot but at least Frisk had a few friends and got food.
The older kids at the orphanage used to tell stories about MT. Ebott. That it swallowed up anyone who dared to climb it. Naturally, young Frisk wanted to see for themselves.
Though the kids in the orphanage were not allowed to go outside unsupervised until they were about 11.
After they fell at 11, when monsters called Frisk they/them... it felt right. Frisk did more research later after they were freed. Found out they were non-binary and lesbian. Them being non-binary has nothing to do with them being intersex, however, they still would be non-binary even if they weren't intersex. They view themselves as completely out of the binary.
Frisk done a neutral run, might've killed some monsters out of curiosity. Then they felt bad and did true Pacifist.
Toriel was the closest they've ever had to a mother. They wanted to desperatedly stay with her but they couldn't.
Monster ambassador, part of the goverment in Monster Town. Appointed Chara as their assistant.
Formally adopted by Toriel along with Chara on the surface.
Shares a soul with Chara, Can feel each other's emotions on the bottom of their halfs. While Chara's has a white border, Frisk's has a deep red border.
Frisk let Asgore name Monster Town.
They're 4 feet tall at 11.
Can't believe I forgot this important detail. They are nonverbal, they can speak but strongly prefer not to - communicates through ASL. Writes if a person doesn't know it. Rarely speaks but sometimes do to say a few small words to loved ones.
Naturally left-handed.
Magic includes; weapons can be made from pure determination.
When monsters moved to the surface, humans werent exactly quick to accept them. They lived in tents near MT. Ebott for a while.
It took a while - few weeks - but they agreed to let em build a town near Springle, So monsters built a town pretty quickly with magic - which Asgore named... Monster Town. He is still awful at naming.
It was near in the valley of mt ebott but far away enough from it and near a larger human town - Springle, where all the kids of Monster Town go to school and Toriel became a teacher there.
It was an exclusively monster town, except for the 4 humans, with a few human tourists visitting sometimes but not often.
Siince humans were still wary and some monsters were scared of other humsns.
Toriel and others made sure to hide the four's pasts - to outsiders the humans are just kids that live with monsters for some reason
and the reason why they go to the school in springle, lorewise is beause everyone thought itd be better to get the two races used to each other.
its not all bad! few weeks later most children accepted the kids of Monster Town into their groups - unlike adults.
infact, some monster kids and human kids are best friends!
though they cannot invite them over to their town unfortunstely, but thats why they hang out in the valley park between the two towns, talk on their phones and walk each other to the borders!
