About - Read Before Interacting
Edit 5/24/2026: updated most of this post. Edited again 5/30/2026 and 5/31/2026.
A plural collective who coins terms specifically related to plurality. Feel free to request terms, but know that all terms on here probably will be uploaded to wikis (with credit to both the person who requested it and this blog) and that we will not accept requests purely for flags.
To make things are clear as possible: yes we are okay with our terminology being uploaded onto wikis, so long as we are credited. If you plan to repost these terms anywhere (on or off tumblr) please give credit to this blog as well as to any user(s) who may have requested the term.
We support all system origins and we ask that those who don’t to DNI. We do not support the use of generative AI, especially in fields of creativity and ask that those who do DNI. We hold other stances as well, but we’re not going to list them here as they are not relevant to this blog. We also wanted to add that we cannot and will not try to police who uses our terms, so just because a user(s) has or uses our terms on their blog or anywhere does not mean we necessarily agree with them.
In all our coined terms we’ll be referring to plural beings as systems and to the members in them as headmates. We acknowledge that some plural beings do not use these terms but these are the most common (as far as we are aware). All flags and terms are coined by us unless otherwise specified.
As this blog is purely for coining purposes we will give no personal information about our collective outside of what will be stated in the next few sentences. You may refer to us collectively as our username and with they/them pronouns. We are a collective, not a system, with headmates, not alters or parts, and request you do not use the word you& or anything similar when referring to us in favor of referring to us as multiple users (even though we share this account). We are not one person or parts of one person, so never refer to us as such. For the most part we use we/us, but we may occasionally use I/me, and the typing style and format may switch up as much as we attempt to keep it relatively consistent. This is simply how our collective likes to be referred to, and we hold no malice or dislike towards systems with different preferences.
We will occasionally reference PluralPedia. While we cannot speak for the truthfulness of its medical-related pages, we see it as a helpful archive of community terms.
If our terms have already been coined consider them to be alternates. If you wish to tell us that we’ve coined a term someone else already has please (kindly) tell us under the coining post of the term and give us a link to the other coiner’s coining post so we can add it into the post. If there is some way we could make our blog more accessible and you wish to share how to do it please tell us under this post.
Asks we will respond to:
Requests for a plural-related term
Requests for terms exclusive for a specific type of system (ex: traumagenic, median, etc), so long as there is a good reason why it should be exclusive to them
Requests for a term and a flag for said term
Asks we might respond to:
Requests for multiple terms at once (it depends on how much time we have)
Requests for multiple terms at once with flags for each term (we probably won’t respond to these but we might - again, it depends on timing)
Requests for terms that toe the line of being problematic (it depends where it is as well as how much knowledge we have on why it could be problematic)
Coining terms for a flag that was already created
Asks we won’t respond to:
Harmful plural-related terms
Non-plural related terms
Terms exclusive to a specific type of system (ex: traumagenic, median, etc) without a good reason for why it should be exclusive
Requests for just a flag (whether it be for a term we’ve already coined or for a term the other user(s) have already coined)
Hate on any system origin
NSFW term requests
AI generated terms or requests
Stolen artwork or terms
Fan mail (though support is appreciated, we are a coining blog)
Users telling us a term has already been coined (we will take note but it’d be easier for us if you just commented it under the post)
Users telling us something we could do to make our blog more accessible (we will still take note, but it’d be easier for us if you just commented it under this post)
