Color and Brush Experiments

an older experiment.  Was watching a lecure by Marco Bucci about colour variance.  Started by painting this just with straight local colour, then choosing different hues/saturations and matching the brightness to place down strokes.  Smudging after every stroke.

An older chart that I keep in mind as a reference when doing saturated colors. 

All of the colors are at 100 saturation 100 brightness.   The grayscale is how they look in proof preview under a grayscale device simulation. The numbers are the brightness value of the grayscale version. So the bright yellow is like a 97 brightness gray while a deep blue is around 27 brightness.

Another experiment with the brush that has color dynamics set to jitter between foreground and background color.

An experiment with Color Dynamics set to apply per tip and 100% foreground/background jitter.  I just didn’t want the smudge to be too smooth of a transition.

Doing some Huevember experimenting.  216

3 brushes:  The roller brush, the dam keeper brush and a customized Suheb Zako drawing brush. 

Lassoing and then using masks to cut into the sharp edges.  Adding Little gradients here and there.  smudging a bit.

Was using it like a dry brush that can have a sharp edge too if needed

Palette Knife Pixelate smudge experiment.

flat brushhead and lots of spacing. 

I’ll think there’s a lot of potential to edges like this.

Pinks on Yellows with Color Dynamics (don’t apply per tip). 

A little bit of Mixer Brush too and a masked Hue/saturation painted in.

I’ll give it a VeryIntriguing/10
