I have a question, this time not just about survive!, but about your more general opinions on the characters. I've been rethinking about the depth of canon Curly's failures recently. I'm curious what appeal you find in Anya and Curly's dynamic, especially why you ship them. For me, I relate to her in the best way and to him in the worst way, pondering what could've been if he'd actually protected her is both indulgently uplifting and an important cautionary tale.

Personally, I know all of the characters have their own equally tragic storylines, but the dynamic between Curly and Anya was most interesting to me. Curly was THE MOST trusted man on the ship to Anya and she confided in him more than anybody as a person of authority and compassion.

I thought their potential to have something romantic together would make the tragedy and betrayal between them that much more intense in the second part of the story. Imagine you think your captain is a total stud and so chill to be around only for him to turn his back on you when you trusted him most to protect you, AND FOR HIM TO LEAN TOWARDS YOUR ABUSERRR I just think it's so sad. The regret would lay on post-crash Curly much heavier in regards to Anya if he really cared about her that way.

do you have story arcs planned for survive! or is it more of a rough story outline through a collection of sketches?

I LIVE! Thanks for the continued interest dude, really appreciate it. I haven't been able to delve into it that much in the past months since life got in the way.

BUT! I really want to explore the au more through comics and sketches mostly. Idk if it deserves a full-fledged fanfic, but I would honestly do it if I see enough people interested.

I'll surely get back into the survive! au once I get my groove back into drawing again. Thanks again for the ask!
