i love this scene, caines cadence is so robotic at the end of this line. the mechanical shrinkage of his pupils, the stiff and unanimated movement of his mouth, and the drop in his tone all show that he’s no longer concerned with making himself appear more human for the comfort of the rest of the cast. this part was much scarier than the “where’s kinger” scene to me.
