Ngl it's very funny to me that there are mcu fans who don't know about aos and think that Coulson just stayed dead after the Avengers. Like wdym you don't know that he had a truly magical beach holiday that resulted in him carving alien patterns into walls? You didn't hear about how he jumped out of a plane with explosions all around him and managed to aim for the titchy portal to another planet where the squid guy who inspired the devil lived?? That he was imprisoned in a digital reality where he was a history teacher who made his own soap?? That his kids missed him after he died slightly more permanently so they made an alien robot with his memories and personality??? Yeah he was even ghost rider for like five minutes

i get so emotional every time i think about fanfic culture. it's just so beautiful that people are writing and anonymously posting these thousand-word stories about characters we all love and not even getting any money or public fame from it. it's literally just for the love of the game.

One of the things that captivates me about the Spectres—and one of the things that makes me not particularly interested in Rebels no Order 66/everyone is happy and the galaxy is better AUs—is that they are a family formed by tragedy at their core. A kinder galaxy could not have brought them together.

In a galaxy without Order 66, Kanan would have been raised to Knighthood by his own Master and would have lived his life as a Jedi, with no need for Hera and the Ghost. Ezra either would have been given to the Jedi or raised by his own loving parents; in either case, he wouldn’t need another family. Without the Empire, Sabine would have never been manipulated into making weapons as a child and driven away from Clan Wren. Zeb would have stayed on Lasan, Captain of the High Honor Guard, serving his people and never needing to leave his duty. Without the Rebellion tearing them apart, Hera and Cham’s relationship wouldn’t have deteriorated and she would’ve stayed on Ryloth. In a kinder galaxy, Chopper would have never been shot out of the sky and found Hera in the first place.

The Spectres as a found family are so compelling because they were all shoved off the paths they should have been on by the story they found themselves in, and that is the only thing that could have brought them all together. If you take out the galaxy as it is in Rebels, you can’t have the Spectres.
