Ria, after its wings were fixed, went to open its dresser — there’s plenty of clothes for it. Clothes that aren’t broken and stained in its blood. Or Fallen’s blood. For a while, it simply… stares into it. Studying the clothes. Figuring out what to do.
There’s so many options. It’s used to maybe two, at most. It’s used to not being able to choose.
Its hand reaches out to touch one of the dresses. Yellow, of course. Its sleeve slips, something… hard? touching its skin.
Its sleeve isn’t supposed to be hard.
Quickly, it skitters back to its bed. Something hard. Something hard. On the inside of its sleeve? It must be; a quick study shows there’s only blood on the outside. Nothing that would be hard. A little stiff, sure, but not hard.
It pokes around the inside of its sleeve. Something hard… ah. There it is! It’s tangled up on the inside of its sleeve, with some loose strings. It’s perfectly hidden… almost. From the outside it is, at least. But from touch, it is not.
Ria detangles it, studying the… stone? In its hand. It’s black; parts are glassy, and parts are dull. Ria doesn’t know what it’s made of. It looks almost as though the base is the glassy part, while the dull part is almost a spiderweb — thin lines, wrapping around it. The shard is small.
It feels funny. Something is weird with it. Even Ria can tell that much.
It studies it for a few moments longer, before something seems to click. The necklace chain. The pendant, an empty cage in the shape of a heart, will fit the stone perfectly.
The necklace is retrieved, the stone gently placed inside. Ria puts the necklace on.
