Great. Super. She’d seen this in one of their advertising pamphlets. Five school dances a year ! As if that were something to be proud of. Staring at the bulletin board with its brightly coloured poster, Olivia sighed. This would probably be a great opportunity to meet people and mingle with other freshmen – which meant a firm and resounding NO on her part. Yeah a 26-year-old high school dropout who threw her life in the toilet? Wasn’t exactly what she would call an interesting conversation starter.

“sorry, sorry!” dylan jogged over to the other quickly. “sorry i’m late. i had to make a point to the swim coach that the tan/translucent looking swim caps they bought for us totally looked like if a bald cap and condom had a baby. takes ‘swimmers’ to a whole new meaning.. im sorry, that was crude.” the blonde chuckled, shaking her head as she finally sat down next to the other. “i thought it would take yanno like five minutes until they turned it into a twenty minute lecture on how grateful we should be that they bought us new ones… like i told them, im wearing the black one that makes me feel like katie ledecky.” dylan took a glance over at the other’s face to take a cue of how they were taking her whole story. “but anyway,” she began, “enough about my ‘eventful’ day.” @comfortcrowdstarters​

Frenchie flipped through sheet music music, clicking his tongue one after another, each one seemingly more boring then the last. “ I give up. ”  He said throwing the papers across the study room table in a dramatic mess. Doing vocal presentations always left him in such an anxious state of mind, over thinking every lyric and chord progression for the perfect number to showcase his vocals. He needed to let every bitch in that black box know that he was here to eat them up and yet here he was only a day before it was his turn to perform. “ Why is it so hard to find a song that mixes both the masculine and feminine ? I need something that screams ‘ I can be your leading man AND lady if you just gave me the chance ’ without sounding so … desperate. ” He sighed as she slumped into his seat, painful memories from his high school days suddenly resurfacing. If there was one thing he knew about academic theater departments, it was that they hated the stench of desperation and anyone who took a whiff could tell that he reeked of it.

After classes had ended for the day, Liam found himself sitting under what was quickly becoming his favorite tree on campus. He’d considered going home before work, but his gas tank was sitting nearly on ‘E’, and payday wasn’t for another two days. With campus being closer to work than home, he made the decision to stay where he was. With two hours to kill, Liam figured he’d use the time to his advantage, looking over his syllabi and getting a head start on his reading. He’d only just gotten completely settled when he noticed a piece of paper falling from a passerby’s bag. Standing, he snatched the sheet before the wind could, running to catch up with the stil-moving person. “Excuse me!” Liam shouted, closing the distance between them. “I’m sorry, but I think you dropped this!” @comfortcrowdstarters​

After her first two classes had finished for the day, Micky found herself famished and in need of an afternoon pick-me-up. Once she’d gotten through the seemingly endless line in the cafeteria, she located an empty seat and made a beeline, practically throwing her bag down on the table to prevent anyone else from sliding in while she was getting situated. Once settled, Micky pulled a folder and pen from her bag, pulling the extracurriculars list from the folder and scanning the page as she took a forkful of her salad into her mouth. A flurry of movement in front of her caught her attention and she glanced up, swallowing her food and taking a quick drink before speaking. “These other two chairs are open, if you’re looking for a place to sit. I’m just looking over all these clubs and teams. I feel like I should get involved in something, I’m just not sure what. It has been some time since I’ve had to consider things like this. Are you involved in anything?”  @comfortcrowdstarters​

marshall walked around campus, his bag over one shoulder and he was looking around curiously. he had heard the campus had a gym and he really did need the exercise if he was going to perform well tomorrow at his first cheer training - and that reminded him he didn’t know where the training field was either. he looked around and picked out the most friendly looking person around to ask the questions he had: “excuse me, could you tell me where i can find the gym, as well as the field the cheer squad trains? i am still sort of finding my way around and i am rubbish at map reading… or map carrying, as i forgot it in my dorm.” he said, with a lazy, charming smile.

Alright, let me say this once and for all since we’re only one week into the school year and I’m already freaking exhausted. Please, for the love of God and all things that are holy, stop asking me how to bypass the school’s web restrictions. Ya know, I doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what you all want to use it for and let me tell ya, it’s fucking disgusting.

Goal one was complete: make it into college. Now Phoebe had to work on her second goal, which was to fall into a lovable band of weirdos and become lifelong friends with them. This, of course, required introductions and getting people to like her – and if her mother taught her one thing, it was that people couldn’t resist baked goods. Especially if they were free. So Phoebe spent most of the previous night whipping up a batch of her grandma’s famous brownies and decided to make them her plan of – not attack, per se – but friendliness. Pasting on a smile, she reached out to the person closest to her. “Morning, potential bestie! Would you like a brownie?” She offered up the plate that held at least a dozen chocolately, delectable morsels. “They’re special. Made with love.” She winked.

It would be a whole lot easier if he’d just transfer to another class, but Santiago de Leon doesn’t back down from a challenge even if that challenge is teaching cosmetology because criminology was right next to it when picking. He has a textbook open in the cafeteria – and really, when does cosmetology need a textbook – when he feels a pair of eyes on him. Defenses prickling, he’s already looking up from where he was reading about primers and why they’re important and locks eyes with the other. 

“What? Can’t a man read a book about makeup? Is this a problem for you, punk? Or am I about to make it our problem?”

Yeeaaah, it’s really sick waking up for a 7am class after being kept awake all night by my idiot ‘b-f-f’, but you know what’s even better?” Ethan’s head felt like it was spinning as he squinted through the sunlight, but he tried his best to keep his gaze on the silhouette of the person in front of him. Coffee would have been good right about now - any sort of upper, really - but with exactly $1.78 in his bank account, he knew it wasn’t much of an option. Nah, Ethan would have to settle for a nap in-between his afternoon classes… and biting at whoever came too close. ”Trying to make sense of, like, anything you’ve got going on right now. So, why don’t you play that back on slow-mo in a language my migraine can actually understand, and we can try this again - but your second shot is your last one, alright? I don’t play by the whole three-strikes thing.”

Jesse sat in the dead of night on the curb in quite the pickle. He wasn’t normally one to ask for help but it’s not like he had much of a choice. “ Hey ! Hey you ! ” he called out to the first person he saw passing on the other side of street, just about to leave the quad. “ ‘Mind giving me a hand ? ” He asked as he lifted his arms to reveal a forty ounce bottle of beer taped to each one of his hands.
