AMC’s The Walking Dead!

As millions of fans await the return of one of the most talked about television shows in the world, venture with us into the post-apocalyptic universe of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Artwork will be inspired by the group’s struggle to survive, fighting against the dead, fighting against the living, and even fighting themselves.

A horde of Hero Complex Gallery’s favorite artists are dancing with the dead, bringing to life the loved, hated, and oftentimes feared characters of this worldwide television phenomenon. Complicated leader, Rick Grimes, the dark and mysterious katana-wielding Michonne, and Southern bad boy turned good, Daryl Dixon, are just a few of the iconic characters of this series that are portrayed in paintings, prints, and sculpture.

Join us as we journey into the post-apocalyptic universe of AMC’s The Walking Dead!

Here is a preview of my 3 color screen print titled "The Horse", for the movie Once. It is for the Oscar Legends show w/ @herocomplexart.  The guitar is made up entirely of song lyrics from the movie soundtrack. The strings of the guitar are the lyrics for "Falling Slowly"  and are printed with a silver metallic ink. The name of the piece comes from the name Glen Hansard has given his guitar- probably in reference to it being a work horse. I hope you like it. #once #art #glenhansard #music #thehorse

Me and Terri sent out holiday cards this year that we designed and created ourselves.  I had taken a print making class and one of the techniques I learned was linoleum cut prints. You sketch out an idea and transfer it onto a linoleum block and then using carving tools you carve away portions of the linoleum block.  Then once your idea is carved, you use a roller to spread a thin layer of paint on the block and then you lay your blank card on top and apply pressure to get the paint to transfer onto your card.  Each card was different and we even created a linoleum block to stamp the back of each card.  Many of the cards we pre-painted with a watercolor background before stamping them with the design.  If you got one, we hope you liked it!  Each card took a lot of love and care to make! :)

The new year is almost upon us.  And for us Yanks, it means new seasons of Downton Abbey and Archer.  This is a birthday card I made my girlfriend last year- mashing together her two favorite shows.
