Sometimes I’m looking for something online - often “how to” articles - and I want to filter for - like - a website that was clearly built in 2010 at the latest, which may or may not have been updated since then, but contains a vast wealth of information on one topic, painstakingly organized by an unknown legend in the field with decades’ worth of experience. I don’t want a listicle with a nice stolen picture in a slideshow format written by a content aggregator that God forgot. I want hand-drawn diagrams by some genius professor who doesn’t understand SEO at all, but understands making stir-fries or raising stick insects better than anyone else on this earth. I don’t know what search settings to put into Google to get this.

This is in a sense the opposite of what most major search engines do, they favor modern websites over old-looking ones. Most links you find here will be nearly impossible to find on a regular search engine, as they aren’t sufficiently search engine optimized.

This team as it is will change. I don’t know how much but this era is closing or at least transitioning towards something new. They won a World Cup and an Olympic Bronze Medal. They sued their own Federation months before the most important event to get the deserved equal pay. They inspired all the other national teams to do the same. They made women’s football spectacular. Beyond what has gone wrong tactically or technically in this tournament, I realized that expectations’ weight was too heavy at some point for them to bear it. Probably the pandemic hit them hard, maybe the preparation wasn’t right, we will never really find the right answer for this question but I believe at some point their head wasn’t just at the right place. As Pinoe said, they lost joy. Today, today I’ve seen them again, I’ve recognized them, and they were BEAUTIFUL. They were free. Even when messy, even when they made it hard for themselves conceding those stupid goals, they were in the game, they were the USWNT.

And yes, it’s not the gold, yes, they surely aren’t too happy about the bronze but they will honor it because it’s their last win with THIS ensemble.

But remember their names. Remember this team. They have just written another chapter of the women’s football history. Their legacy will survive them. They will never be forgotten because no one will have this kind of impact on and off the field. EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT LEGENDS NEVER DIE.

these past 3 weeks have essentially just constant breakdowns over swan queen and normally that just involves me reading 8 million fics but i finally have the urge to contribute back with some art. im rewatching s1 (and tormenting some friends into watching it with me) and man this show really just was that gay in s1 huh, like sometimes pairings get distorted after ive not watched the source material in some time (cough this case 6 years cough) but nah, they were just like that.

im suuuucchhh a sucker for stuff that involves both of their magic, like god just the potency of the evil queen and savior having to combine magic despite being fated to be at odds, the DELICIOUSNESS of this enemies to lovers with fate and destiny thrown in i will never be over it.
