CommanDollar was created by a team of Magic: The Gathering players with a passion for the Commander format. The blog's mission was to foster a community in which the love for the game did not supersede the desire to pay bills. From that point on, the CD team provided budget Commander information, resources, and ideas. Between articles, Q&As, and a variety of quick content formats, the CD team opened their deckboxes and hearts to the Tumblr Commander community.

Hasbro’s squeezing Magic: The Gathering players for too much money, big bank warns

Stock plummets as analyst says Hasbro is ‘killing its golden goose’

Considering the result is this:

That sharp drop is this morning (11-14) as a result of the stock being graded from buy to underperforming or whatever the word is. The concern for traders is that Hasbro is seeking short term profit by squeezing current players for more rather than focusing on long term growth and bringing more players into the game. Essentially the worry is that they’re creating a sort of bubble and it’s going to burst.

I wonder if this valuation is enough to influence the product strategy of Hasbro. That’s a pretty significant financial impact and they can’t really ignore it.

Went to Commandfest Bellevue this weekend and had such an amazing time! Met and made some new friends, bumped into some content creators who were kind enough to stop and chat for a few minutes, and played some amazing games. Next year I’m totally going for the full weekend!!

Nine years ago I was a broke college student who loved playing Magic, stuck at home due to stacking Nor’easters, and a passion for writing. I began a blog on tumblr dedicated to playing the EDH/Commander format on a budget, which grew to a point where we had a team of bloggers/writers working under this name/umbrella.

As the years went on, we all drifted apart as life demanded our attention, and the blog quietly slipped into the background. I began writing again within the last several years on different sites, mostly about the SWGOH mobile game, but at the core of this name-Commander and Dollar-lies the heart of a gamer who just wanted to have fun without emptying their pockets.
