Her hand is firm on his chest, the door meeting his back easily enough. He remains stoic, looks down at the hand on his chest as his mind wills him to END HER.

The pain in her eyes rouses his silent curiosity, that heady kind that is quick to spark anger beneath his skin and make his jaw ache. Why did her pain matter? She'd chased him, had throttled him, stabbed him, even SHOT HIM all for the hell of the hunt. Why didn't she look like the woman he remembered? Why did she seem so fucking SINCERE?

A reflex moving to stop Five, practically knowing him like the back of her own backstabbing hand, stepping between to stop him from pulling that damn trigger when Charlie got a little too smart with him. Amusing, always, witnessing Five getting all puffed up, but off the rails wasn’t an option here. Petite hands patted his chest seemingly soothing but were condescending, muffled smacks against pressed clothing. “Easy kitten. Remember, we need him alive, idiot.” Lila heard the words come out, onyx orbs rolling with a grimace, adding on to Five’s second outburst that rang off the walls in a lowered octave. “And before you get any ideas thinking I’m the good cop in this little charade, I’d sooner spray your brain matter all over this dump if that weren’t the case, Charlie.”
But what to do… what to do?
Lila hooked her arm through Five’s, tugging him along. “Sidebar — y’mind, Charles?” Not bothering to wait for a response, Lila took them a couple steps off before stopping, still well within Charlie’s earshot on purpose. He wasn’t going anywhere. “What’s your plan? Kill him and no deal? Make better offers.” Smirking, Lila glanced over at Charlie before gazing back at Five. “Way you two were going back and forth I thought it was flirting. A date could be a deal.” Flirting or starting a fight, the constant song and dance. Although Five and Charlie were at each other’s throats, and she was in the mood to let it happen again. After the deal was done, of course.

He'd snark back dully, slipping his hands into his pockets. He's a quick enough draw not to have his hands out at all times. He considers her words and knows the right thing to do. The logical thing, but the satisfying thing would be to spray Charlie's blood all over the walls.

It's as close to a compromise as they'd ever get to. Any snide comments, any strange remarks, any funny looks and Five would take it as a justification for killing him. The man was a waste of the hours of labor it took to get him here.
