Ship getting trapped together in an elevator for hours trope is old news actually.
Ship getting trapped on the Disney Skyliner for hours? Genius.
As someone who has been stopped several times on the Disney Skyliner with a random stranger, I can confirm that it is not only plausible but also peak entertainment for the following reasons.
1. The Skyliner stops (like fully stops stops) for one of two reasons with guests still on it. Either a guest is having an emergency in one of the cars in the station or there has been an electrical malfunction.
2. The Skyliner has no heating or AC. Florida is either brutally fucking hot or windy as shit. You are actually required to be miserable when sat in it too long.
3. That fucker SHAKES. If it's windy, you will feel it. Amazing feeling if you have a healthy fear of death.
4. There are emergency first aid kits in every car. Do with that information what you will.
5. The flaps in the cars are 100% openable and closeable by guests, but if you're under 5'5" you will not be able to reach those stupid ass pull in handles. You will be forced to rely on strangers to aid you or just accept that you are going to freeze to death.
For more information on the Disney Skyliner and how it works, I ride this thing way too much. Just ask.
