Trait Theory
Trait theory is the most interesting theory that I have had a chance to learn about because of the traits and characteristics that people fall into. Trait theory has a five factor model it includes: Neuroticism, Extroversion, Openness, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness. These traits are interesting because they could constitute a variety of different personalities. I personally would label myself as an extroverted person, but there are other people that would classify me as neurotic person because of the level of anxiety that I have over various amounts of topics. It is interesting to learn about characteristics that people have that they might not be aware of. This makes me think of the personality online quizzes that are available and how many times I have taken them and almost all the same characteristics are revealed to me. I believe that it is SUPER important for everyone to be self-aware of who they are and take into consideration how your personality type might clash with another person. This also started to make me think that maybe companies should have personality tests given to their employees in order to become familiar with who they are and how their personality types might be affecting their work ethic. It would be a good idea to normalize the concept that these personality traits evidently showcase who that individual is and how hard it can actually be to change who you really are.
