The West Coast and pulling the plug.
Hi everyone. I know it's been a while and I've traveled quite the distance sense my last writing part of that is because Stephanie was with me and I was trying to enjoy every minute of that. So the west coast was amazing and beautiful and there is nothing else quite like it. There was also a lot of rain. Pretty sure I only had one day where it wasn't raining. And even then I'm pretty sure it rained in the morning before we started moving about that day. Definitely hit some bucket list items that I will never forget. The giant redwoods where some of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The Pacific highway was interesting to say the least. If I ever do it again it will have to be in a convertible when it's not always raining. As for Southern California... I have no desire to drive through there again. If I ever am to go back it will all be by public transportation. The San Diego zoo was well worth the visit especially when you get in right as it opens and walk faster then most the other people there. I will say something that Stephanie showed me on that leg of the trip is that all the adventures are much more fun when you have someone else there to enjoy them with. All this leads to my next move and that is pulling the plug on the trip. It been a great time and I've really enjoyed it but I've gotten checked out and to continue on would only be for the sake of saying I did it and that's not what this trip is about. So as I write this I am now actually in Texas I still have close to twelve hundred miles to travel to get back to Indiana. I am looking forward to getting to have Thanksgiving Dinner with some friends. But I'm also ready to know when my next shower is going to be and where I'm going to sleep that night. So there will be one more post in the next couple of days speaking of lessons I learned and pointers for anyone else looking to do a similar trip. As well as some of the more sketchy things that happened.

First leg done!
So tomorrow I pick up my best friend Stephanie to start the second leg of my trip. The first leg.... well was interesting to say the least. I made a lot of mistakes fortunately none of them severe. I learned a lot on how I need to have everything organized and found some interesting places along the way. Glacier was definitely the major highlight of the first leg but it was also great to see good friends along the way. I also met some interesting people along the way with plenty of helpful insights on where to go and things to see. My hopes for this second leg is to be a bit more relaxed, hit some warmer weather, and to meet more people. For those of you wondering. This first leg I have driven 4700 miles, that includes going to Kentucky, and have been through 9 different states. I'm sure there are loads of stories I've forgotten to tell you all about. And I know that I've missed out on atleast a thousand photo opportunities but that's partly on purpose because some of the greatest parts of America shouldn't be seen through a photo or read about on a blog but experienced in real life. So that being said if you need pointers on cool places to see on where I just drove through just ask. I'm very much looking forward to this next leg and also incredibly nervous but its all just about riding the waves and that's what I'm gonna do.
Glacier and so forth
Sorry I haven't updated an the happenings of the past couple days. So since we left off I traveled through part of glacier which I will say is probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever been in my life with views so capturing that my brain was actually quiet and just took in the sights around me. I probably hiked 9 or so miles that day but honestly it wasn't enough. Glacier is a place I will travel back to and explore more of it. So from glacier I continued west driving through Kalispell, MT which has a great coffee roaster called Montana Coffee Traders. Definitely one of my top five coffee roasters so of course I stopped there. Then to Idaho. I love Idaho it has beautiful views friendly people and great history. But on this trip it exemplified the biggest problem that I have run into on this entire road trip and that is things being closed for the season. The number of campsites I've tried going to that are closed for the season I've honestly lost track but yesterday it was a lot. Like an aggravating number. I ended up just driving to Spokane Washington, which was my next planned stop, and slept in a Walmart parking lot. So hear I sit in Spokane Washington waiting for the boot store to open so I can get fit for a new pair of custom boots and then I will be heading west again. Next planned stop is Seattle on Sunday but hopefully I find a hot springs before that.
Almost forgot this. The marker for the Continental Divide. #roadtrip #roadtonowhere #montana #continentaldivide
The whole picture doesn't fit but this is Avalanche Lake again. It was so peaceful when no one else had hiked in yet. #roadtrip #roadtonowhere #montana #glaciernationalpark (at Avalanche Lake)
