When you woke up the next morning you followed the scent of fresh coffee into the kitchen. Stopping in the door to take in the sight before you. Enji’s back was towards you, his focus on what he was cooking on the stove top. The sizzling of bacon and eggs accompanying the low song playing on the radio.
You recognize the tune almost immediately. It was the song that was playing when you shared your first kiss and when you told each other that you loved each other. You don’t remember the last time you heard it. “It’s been a while since I’ve heard this.”
Turning to look over his shoulder, he greats you a good morning before pulling the pans from the stove top and walking over to give you a hug. You give him a squeeze before pulling back to look up at him.
“Good morning to you to. What prompted all this? Not that I’m complaining, but aren’t you supposed to be at work?” You glance around you expecting to see his briefcase or duffle bag that held his hero suit anywhere.
His lips turned up in a small smile. “I took the day off… actually the next few days off. I wanted to surprise you.” He bent down to give you a quick kiss on the lips. “Surprise.” You look up at the man in front of you. He seems so calm, almost joyful. A rare glimpse at the person you had fallen in love with. “Enj-” He lets go of you and grabs a cup of coffee off of the counter. “Y/N, before you say anything let me explain.” He gestures at the seat in front of you at the kitchen island.
“Y/N, I know things have been… odd between us lately and I want to apologize for my part in it. I know I haven’t seem invested in the wedding planning or been around for a while. Between you being captured and All For One and with everything at the family estate-”
“Oh I forgot to ask you about that. Was everything okay?” You lean forward on the island, taking a sip of your coffee. Made just how you like it.
You noticed his shoulders tense at your question before he gave you a short ‘it’s fine’. You make a note to circle back to that at a later time.
“Okay. I didn’t mean to interrupt please continue.”
“Anyway, with everything going on and your new friendship-” His face souring at that last word. “With All Might. I think we should take a trip for a few days, reconnect for a little bit. Away from the city.”
You take a look at his face, taking a moment to gather your thoughts. What did your friendship with All Might have to do with anything? Not wanting to ruin the morning he created you simply ask if you two were going to spend time at the estate. To which he let out an abrupt ‘no’.
“No? Why not? It’s been-” You were cut off by him. “We’re not going to the estate, so just drop it.” Seeing the hurt look that flashed across your features, he walked around the island and pulled you into a hug.
“I’m sorry Y/N. I didn’t mean it. I just had a different plan for our few days. Ok?” He moves your head into his chest and you mumbled out a small ok.

It’s been a few days since Toshinori last heard from you. He hadn’t seen Endeavor on patrol either, which was odd. Endeavor has been aiming for his spot on the hero charts since he broke into the top 10.
Toshinori missed texting you. Often reaching for his phone to text you, but thinking twice. Maybe you were over the thrall of communicating with the Number 1 hero. To you he was just All Might. But to him? You were everything.
While on patrol, a headline on a paper at the newspaper kiosk caught his attention. Grabbing the paper, his heart started to pound at the image in front of him. Silently handing the worker at the kiosk some money, All Might, with the paper in hand made his way to the place only you and he would know.
Sitting down at the kitchen table, where a fresh bouquet of sunflowers and roses set, he read over the headline again. Even though it has been on replay in his mind since the news kiosk.
No. 2 Hero Marries Citizen (more on page 2.) A picture of you and Endeavor leaving a hotel, with a zoomed in image on your hand, a band replacing your engagement ring.
Resting his head in his hands, he takes a moment to himself before flipping to the article.
Over the past few days you may have noticed the No. 2 hero missing from the streets. When first asked to comment his agency said that the pro was taking a few days off to focus on wedding planning with his fiancee.
Well if you can see, it looks like the couple decided to forgo what people were calling “The Most Anticipated Wedding of the Year” and elope in a secret ceremony.
The hero’s agency and family has yet to comment on the development. The newspaper would like to offer their congratulations and well wishes to the happy couple.
He couldn’t believe that you had done it. Taking a picture of the article, he sent it to you with: Congratulations. I wish you two the best.
Unknowingly, he had sent a picture of the cover with the bouquet of sunflowers and roses in the corner.
