Reblog this photo of a käpylehmä to have a käpylehmä in your blog
It's a trick! If you reblog you get TWO käpylehmäs in your blog!
When my mother was a lobbyist in DC back in the late 80s/early 90s she bought three or four khorjin and at least two big Persian rugs in Old Town Alexandria and now wants to give some of them to me which is lovely but I really don't want her to try to send antique textiles in the mail across the country and unfortunately there is no normal way to say "don't worry about it, I was actually planning on getting these in 15 to 20 years along with your condo assuming Colorado is still habitable."
Not to be too sincere on main but my friends are some of the most incredibly kind and generous people on the face of the planet who gave up SO MUCH time and energy and money (and possibly, given that it was like 112 F this weekend, a year off their total lives) to help Mar and I move over the holiday. I've thanked everyone personally of course but I must also post about it. Let the record show: it was an amazing effort and I owe everyone.
Deborah DeWit - Making Beds (2010)
so i think the solution is to give dachshunds a third pair of legs right in the middle
Short Story out on Fusion Fragment about the role of robot women in science fiction movies in response to how blood boilingly angry the movie Ex Machina made me literally 7 years ago. Issue can be downloaded for free!
Domestication is a pretty wild and crazy thing when I think about it. The kitten I pulled out of a wheel well is about 9 weeks old and, as far as I know, didn't know about people for the first 7 of those but at this point he's no longer afraid of us and is instead very excited about playing with us and no longer runs to hide behind the toilet when we open the bathroom door but will come outside and scamper around the whole house when we let him. He purrs! And he's willing to be held and even wants to sit on laps sometimes. Obviously he could have probably survived in a totally different life in the colony in our neighborhood but he knows instinctively how to be a cat in the house also and that blows my mind. It's so great, I'm really happy for him! Thank you people of the ancient Near East for domesticating cats, this was a huge W for all of us.
Your friend’s unpublished fic idea is kind of a dead wife
Dealer's choice, but a fic in the Master and Commander (2003) universe And then after you've gotten around to viewing all of Battlestar Galatica (2004-2009), putting William Adama into some sort of sensual, and maybe sad, maybe even painful but definitely still sensual, Situation
Saving this for posterity thank you friend - you KNOW I am predictably immediately thinking about wound dressing 🙂↕️(Also, this is unrelated, but I was like "okay and what's my second thought?" because my number one writing rule is "first thought probably not best thought" and my second thought was about Bearskin and if it would be a viable fairytale to reference in discussing Jack's brief famous fur suit escape, but it turns out that Bearskin wasn't recorded in writing until 1815 so sadly we can't reference Bearskin, and it's not so relevant anyway. Sad but this is why we research. A third thought will follow, I'm sure.)
Also I'm looking at William Adama's wikipedia right now and while I have to find the time to watch the show what I can say from the wikipedia overview is that I would love to see this handsome man in a Situation with/on account of Saul or/and President Roslin. Not sûre how wildly inappropriate to the source this would be, but I'll find out!
I was like "it's time, this time when I move I will finally go through and toss out all of the various blorbo art I acquired at anime conventions from 2009 to 2015. It was lovely to get but I don't display it and I have scans." Turns out I did this already at some previous move. The folder that used to be full of anime drawings of my OCS is just full of my tax documents LMFAO sadly I can't get rid of those.

This is dollar-store Lana Del Rey BUT I am going wild for it. Eventually you'll all understand. My unwritten smutty X-Files fanfic has a really good soundtrack.
Mr. Mona Lisa is still quarantined to the bathroom until his vaccines and FLV test on Saturday but he's officially flea free and two entire pounds (and adoptable, btw, in case you forgot 🙂↕️).
Hi, my name is James Webbony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Space Telescope and I am a telescope in space (that's how I got my name) and I have a five-layer aluminum-coated Kapton sunshield protecting my instruments and gold-coated hexagonal primary mirror segments like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me I look like Lady Gaga (AN: if you don't know who she is, get the hell out of here!). I'm not related to the Hubble Space Telescope, but I wish I was because he's a major fucking hottie. I'm an infrared telescope but I am much larger than Spitzer. I have 18 primary mirror segments. I also study exoplanets, and I go to a telescope school in L2 where I'm in orbit (I was launched in 2021). I can see distant galaxies (in case you couldn't tell) and I wear mostly gold. I love space, and I take all my photos there. For example, today I was taking a photo of the Cartwheel Galaxy, which is about 500 million light years away. I was using my NIRcam, NIRspec, MIRI, and FGS-NIRISS. I was walking outside L2. It was around 1 million miles away from Earth and there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of preps stared at me. I unfolded my primary mirrors at them.
