I get these grand ideas
And I let them form in my head.
I let it saturate my mind and take over. I make no effort to put out the wildfire that’s quickly spreading and soon it’s too late.
I try to gently escort it safely out, but it doesn’t come out in one piece. It’s extracted quickly and haphazardly.
How to Feed the Writer:
Step One: Feed their ego.
I thought tonight I’d
write about dreams. Maybe nightmares, maybe a mix of both.
Why do you think, when we’re dreaming, we see a person who’s really more like a shape. A dark, masked shadow of a person.
No unique features, no distinct lines on a face that let you recognize them.
Yet, when we’re dreaming we immediately know who this person is. You don’t ask, they don’t tell. You just know.
What’s even weirder is how quickly that unknown person morphs into another character of your dream. And again, you just go with it.
