Hello from the outside.
and--all--the--rest.
Emery had been working in the royal gardens all day. It had been a beautiful spring day, not too hot and not too cold. He had settled in by the library windows, carefully planting new flowers in the garden beds. He wouldn’t dare look in the windows. It wasn’t his place but he heard something that pulled him up short. After a long while of listening curiosity got the better of him. he leaned closer, whispering, “Hello…? Is anyone there?”
no, no, no. no one was meant to know she was up here. a flash of blonde hair turns back, sure to be out of sight. she liked to watch people, but they weren’t supposed to watch her. didn’t everyone know that already? ‘ i was only looking. i’m not -- i’ve got to go. ‘
