The rain seemed everlasting to a fault. Long, lashing winds rise and plummeted like the very same skies when Grima has rose to power. He had been plowing the field when his eyes caught hers, glowing and firm, beaten and worn ( from the terrible disaster that besieged their world ), but determined as ever- just like their father’s had been. Libra pauses -the hands that used to wield axes and staves now debased to wielding cheap tools like hoes and rakes- Offer the girl a solemn glance, her face had brought him many memories he didn’t want to remember, of good and bad times he’s spent before his life in the farm. Life would have been peaceful if they had won, he’s come to acknowledge that the consequences to their failure was a severe, crushing defeat. They had lost utterly. Annihilated. A repetitive of events only increased his sense of guilt of being helpless to the cause once more. A price for failure.
He had failed his clergy, shamed his monastery, betrayed his friends- he wonders how many of them were left now since his departure. He didn’t want to know.
❝I’m sorry, I—❞ he grounded a pause. There were many things going on his mind right now, and what should he say? Hello, Lucina, the years have find you well? Surely, that was something he would say if the situation had been merrier. Yet it was not.
He shifts, one hand places upon the other at the tip of his rake. Lucina stood a fair distance away. He wasn’t sure if she was here for him, or for other matters entirely. ❝Your Highness, is there something you need?❞
The lull between them was spent in utter silence from her side. Lucina only scrutinized the scene in front of her, and to her dismay, the tranquility was not the reprieve she was anticipating for. Prior to her arrival, she had set about a strategem to speaking to this individual. Yet now, as Libra continued about his tasks, she could not find the proper words to say. In her mind, his speech seemed almost brusque. Something she needed? Yes, there was plenty. Her eyebrows furrowed at her own thoughts - what was he to say in such a situation? Clearly he was as lost as she was. As they all were.
She gave the signal of an open palm, disregarding his question. ‛ No. Please, at ease. ’ He was, in all technicality, a traitor. Someone who abandoned the call of war. Perhaps she should have held ire in her heart for him, but as if in deference, she did not. Many had defected since her inauguration, and though she wondered why, she did not linger for long. Whatever the case, she was sure they had cogitated prior to the decision. ‛ How have you fared in your absence? ’
edifyingisms:
Miriel groaned once more at the future exalt daughter’s confusion. She felt slightly honored at first to engage in conversation with her, but those feelings turned fast. It has been so long that even she could tell when Lucina was lost by her body language.
“I believed it was you who desired to learn about the arts of magic,” she didn’t want to scare her off, but someone like Robin might have been a better option for this information.
“Why do you wish to learn this anyhow? Are you not taking swordplay, like your father?”
Lucina shrunk back at the vexation she was causing, but held her ground, firm in assimilating the steady craft of magic. It had been a novel concept to her, and she was sullen at the stunt in any headway towards even the slightest comprehension of the process. She reminded herself of the fact that she was not born deftly wielding a blade, either, and kept with her previous tenacity. ‛ Certainly not, ’ She said with a wave of her gloved hand. ‛ A general consensus, however, is that a good leader is able to adapt to what is needed at a given time. So I thought it might be useful if I understood most combat at baselevel. I may not be a tactician, but it would at least only be beneficial. And... maybe I also wanted an excuse to spend time with you. ’
‛ It's that time of year again... I wonder if anyone happens to remember. ’
Based on my writing, how old would you THINK I was?

not feeling too well so i'll get to the rest of things i need to do tomorrow. hopefully i'll be a bit more productive then;; i'll still be here though, so if you need to talk to me about something, feel free!
“how long will this go on for?”
‛ I don't know, ’Lucina snapped, her words lingering on the brink of venemous. She reeled back at the sound; she had feared the day she wouldn't recognize her own voice. The day had come. She seemed so dishelved, like an impostor, or as though a tailor was unravelling her at the seams. She let out a shaky exhale of breath. Instinctively she wanted to rise to her feet and march out as quickly as she could. She needed sleep; she needed time. Yet the world looked down to her needs and practically laughed at her, and as she sat with Severa's gaze fixated on her, she's never felt smaller. She put a calloused, bruised hand to her hair, and pulled along her roots. She's never struggled under the weight built upon her. She recognized the role she was born to play, she recognized that she would be held differently, she knew. She knew. Yet the realm of the unspoken between her and Severa seemed unable to be tread. This was not a battle, this wasn't something she could lift a sword to and be done with, it was chaos and control butting heads. She had always been dilligent, when had everything seemed so difficult? She was too ashamed to let the message she wanted so desperately to leave her lips. I need help. She once again drank from the poison that was doubt. I wish these responsibilities would disappear. The mere thought left her with scorn, her destructive anger building like boiling water. All that her allies have done, all that she's done, and she was still only wishing for things to change. She swiped the childish cry from her mind, and regained figure. She was stronger than her weaknesses. She was the young woman the people before her molded, an example that the world was not yet bleak. She finally relaxed, though she still did not seem stern in her direction.‛ I can't give in just yet. I know you're concerned with my lack of care for myself, but we have not yet won the future we deserve. I do this for your sake as much as I do for my own. ’

lucina abruplty halted. the hand resting on her side balled into a fist, and it seemed as though something weighed heavy on the young woman, consternation passing like waves roaring over an ocean. her demeanor twisted a final time before she snapped around to attention. ‛ i realize i should've said this sooner, ’ she muttered with apologetic tone. ‛ but i don't actually know where i'm going. ’
