too [redacted] to do anything full-on, sprucing up kat's uniforms and i think it'd be funny if her shirts were plastered with fluorescent INTERN or CONTRACT STAFF across the back. there's no point to it — the emblems other mercs have seem to be enough for them — aside from being easier to recognize. a pro if someone in base needs assistance. a con because it's flashy and being easier to recognize during a fight isn't. ideal. see below:

sometimes u have a whiteclaw and fall asleep thinking abt respawn mechanics. in my mind it happens in 3 waves — recall, respawn, resurrection ( which sounds soo dramatic but like. it is ). first, a prelude to the process; it's imperative that mercenaries see their respective medics to ensure their body's data is up-to-date in respawn's systems before a skirmish. do you want that new tattoo to disappear the next time battle doesn't go your way ? it takes about an hour or two, and is a little intensive, so get comfy !

recall's the initial wave, where a merc is scraped off the pavement piece by atomic piece and sent to a respawn chamber — it doesn't matter how much is left of them. all the system needs is whatever trace of mass our boys leave behind. the missing bits will reconstructed in a matter of seconds anyway !

once everything that makes them them is sent to a chamber, the respawn process kicks-in, filling the gaps and building bodies anew — sort-of. it's not a cure-all " here's your Brand New Never Been Lived In Never Been Cut Or Bruised Or Burned Body " ; they get whatever they checked-in with. Katharine's childhood scars and carpal tunnel don't just disappear when she goes through respawn — neither does the limp her home engineer walks with, and the medic's vision hasn't improved. it doesn't heal what's been there

resurrection is the shortest part; it's like an aed to the max. full body system reboot, everything firing at once, eyes burning from the sudden flash of light. boom, your lad's alive in ten seconds flat !

say they were severely injured in battle and managed to win the round, still standing, just barely; they wouldn't be able to just pop into a respawn chamber for a quick-fix. respawn only initiates through death — a medigun would serve them much better until then. the longer they bear an injury, the more likely it is to pop up next time they respawn since check-ins happen prior to battle
