Decided to pick up Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma on sale. Was planning on getting in and then waiting until I finished or made more progress in Tides of Destiny before playing, but after thinking about it for a little bit I'm gonna give it a try sooner rather than later. I still really like Tides of Destiny, but it's something I'd rather come back to every now and then and chip away at rather than be super dedicated to playing.
Hopefully I'll enjoy Guardians of Azuma as well. I've been really interested in checking it out since I like Tides of Destiny so much.
I was going to follow up on this after I got far enough into the game where I felt confident in sharing my first impressions. That didn't happen. I did play it for a little bit around the time I got it, and what I played was pretty fun. However, my interest in farming / life sim games comes and goes and I guess I just wasn't feeling it.
That being said, I see myself coming back to Guardians of Azuma at some point. Maybe I'd enjoy it more on Switch rather than PC (just gotta make sure the Switch port runs well).
Also, Tides of Destiny is going to be hard to go back to after trying Guardians of Azuma. Guardians is overall much more engaging and I enjoy the city building as an alternative to traditional farming way more compared to just waiting for the monsters you've tamed to do their thing. There are more islands to explore. Traveling between said islands is way more convenient. You can recruit villagers you've befriended as party members. Don't get me wrong I still like Tides of Destiny, but Guardians just has more to it.
