Decided to pick up Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma on sale. Was planning on getting in and then waiting until I finished or made more progress in Tides of Destiny before playing, but after thinking about it for a little bit I'm gonna give it a try sooner rather than later. I still really like Tides of Destiny, but it's something I'd rather come back to every now and then and chip away at rather than be super dedicated to playing.
Hopefully I'll enjoy Guardians of Azuma as well. I've been really interested in checking it out since I like Tides of Destiny so much.

bf got me this because we've been marathoning power rangers nonstop and I LOVED it! it's such a good and digestible tactical rpg. would definitely replay this to see the other two endings through.
So the first game on my backlog queue was the original Tomb Raider. I went into it keeping an open mind in regards to what it was within the context of the time it originally came out. Sadly, even with that mindset I came out of the experience incredibly disappointed. Since I played via the recent remastered trilogy I was given the option of using either the original tank controls or modern controls but I had issues with both. The tank controls were sluggish and an active hindrance to my ability to enjoy the game, but the modern controls weren't much better. To put it bluntly, the game's modern control options feel poor because they were put into a game that wasn't designed for that kind of control scheme. The controls in general, no matter which I chose, put me in a unfavorable position when it came to enjoying the game.
However, that isn't to say the game is all bad. I recognize that for its time, Tomb Raider was quite an amazing game and if the original controls can be stomached by someone who didn't grow up on them it can still be enjoyed today. The game's cinematic moments were also enjoyable and I can see why they were seen as such an eye catching innovation at the time.
As a whole I'd say Tomb Raider is an objectively good game that I wasn't able to fully enjoy due to my more modern standards clashing with the game's original design and it's attempts to meet me in the middle weren't able to remedy that.
I'd give Tomb Raider a "This game is of historical significance." out of 10.
