Dnd. Weāre doing an inconsequential side one shot while a player is out. Just messing around in Icewind Dale doing pointless quests. And we come across this sus brazier with a severed hand in it. Donāt know what it does. Donāt know if itās even important. Vaguely think itās just to provide light for a sundial in a sunless land. Anyway so after trying a normal fire didnāt work. Instead of like. Investigating or ANYTHING. We immediately jumped to āwe need to cut off someoneās hand and sacrifice it to the brazierā
So uhhhh might've cut off my character's hand* during a supposedly inconsequential session...
*Or, the hand of their echo knight counterpart. Very unclear if the hand is permanently cut off but in the unhinged of Anti-Scyphoton, "If it's permanent, then Iāll have served my purpose."
this of course included a extremely unnerving and intense scene wherein the shadow devotedly offered her hand to be sacrificed and the flesh raised its sword. And they both acted as if this was the only reasonable solution, a normal thread of logic to a mind twisted in circles by the fae wilds.
And when their hand lay severed in the brazier, fingers tangled with silver flames, the shadow asked: ādo I get a thank you now?ā
And the flesh replied: āwhat have you done worthy of praise?ā
