You mentioned dragons seal the bond with their mates with a bite right? Where is the bite located on the darlings?

When a dragon chooses a life partner, whether it be another dragon or a cookie, after giving the final courting gift (which is their equivalent of both proposing AND saying 'I do' at the alter all at once), the first thing that usually happens after IS the mating bite. Read the post I made about the whole courting and mating process for them down below first before reading the rest of this post because it'll make much more sense.

They bite down HARD. It's enough to cause physical pain, and yes they do bite down hard enough to draw blood. And they do this on purpose. They want their teeth marks to scar. That's the whole point. To MARK their mate as THEIRS. Remember dragons are natural yandere, and are obsessively possessive. Even ones who are chill with cookies like Pitaya.
The bite is more than just a bite.
It literally links the dragon to their mate. They become more sensitive to their emotions, their scent, their habits, and yes they always know their location nagging at the back of their mind. It's a sixth sense they have for being able to locate them and sense any danger.
This is why it's REALLY dangerous for cookies who don't know a dragon's courting them and get bitten anyways.
Even if you get plastic surgery or a skin draft. Even if you try burning the bites and Mate Mark to cover them with more scars. Even if you completely loose the limb the bite mark and Mate mark is on...
They WILL still find you. They WILL still see you as their. And anyone who gets in their way will not be shown mercy. Especially any other lovers you have. Cheating is the ultimate sin to a dragon/in dragon culture. The consequences for seeing you 'cheat' on them will be dire.
Mate Marks are the specific mark a dragon has bejeweled on their bodies. It's their symbol, family crest, Signiture, and whatever else they decide to use it form. By receiving this symbol, it's the same thing as taking your husband's last name at your wedding ceremony. Their children, siblings, and parents also inherit this symbol unless they mate with another dragon and take on their mark instead. Each dragon has their own. They're easy to spot because it's bejeweled onto them.
Here's the dragon's Mate Marks:
Longan's and Lychee's look similar but Longan's goes a step further and looks more like an eye.
These marks are permanent and unless you loose the arm or leg they bite you on, they will always magically appear back over any scar tissue, skin draft, or tattoo. So really the only way to hide it is by covering it up with clothes. These marks don't give their mate special powers but sometimes they'll be able to feel what they're emotions are.
As for where their bitemarks and Mate Marks are-
Petal: The back of her lower arm. You can't really see it because of all the long sleeved robes she likes to wear, but Lotus's three little gem marks are there, as well as where their chompers bit into her. A lot of people are shocked when they see the scary bite the pretty dragon did. Lotus likes giving them a scary toothy grin after they see it to scare them.
Actress: The left side of her stomach. She wanted it somewhere discreet so she could still get good chances of getting roles of the different auditions she attends. Maybe a little superficial but sadly that's how Berrywood works. Lychee is smug about it whenever she wears a two piece bikini to the beach tho their bite is the smallest.
Pineapple Ring: On her left upper arm. Believe it or not they didn't bite her right away. After all they were already married by the village chieftess, but they were still antsy with their instincts telling them to bite her! When Ananas finally broke and explained it to her giving her the chance to opt out, she gladly accepted. So she considers this her permanent wedding ring.
Butterfly: She has two from both past mates....but they're not actually bite marks. They're birthmarks. Remnants from her past life. They're brithmarks that look like bite marks she was also made fun for so she doesn't like to show them and usually has them covered. Both are on her shoulders. The one from her first mate(the Ebony Dragon) is on her left shoulder and since we haven't seen them yet, I can't tell you what symbol is there. Longan's is on her right shoulder. Longan wants to bite her again and reinstate the mating bond permanently but Butterfly is still hesitant since Longan did truthfully tell her it'll hurt and permanently tie them together for life again. When she does finally agree, Longan cries rare happy tears before biting the same place as before.
Desert Rose: The bite mark and Mate Mark are both on her collar bone out for everyone to see. Since it's usually hot and DR usually wears short cloths (think like the clothes of the Mango Tribe), it's out for everyone to see and that's just how Pitaya likes it. Fills them with pride whenever they see it on her and they like to kiss it whenever they're cuddling on her.
