Let’s beat the hate back a bit!
You guys know what? Fuck this. Fuck all this. Hate may have won yesterday, but I have an idea. Let’s beat hate back a bit.
I am hereby declaring November 2016 to be Charity Month.
Now, I am a University student. My budget is pretty much paper thin, but frankly, there are so many people out there in far worse situations than me. I can spare a couple of bucks a week. They need it more than I do.Â
So, I am deciding, here and now, to donate to charity, ANY form of charity with a worthy cause, at least twice a week for the rest of November.Â
And I challenge every single one of you reading this to do the same.
It doesn’t need to be much. I know a lot of you, like myself, live on a thin budget. But a couple of bucks is still more than nothing, and a whole lot of a little becomes a lot.Â
Yesterday, I donated to All Out, a non-profit, politically unaffiliated international organisation working for the rights of LGBTQ+ people around the world. They need a lot of help right now.
Today I will be donating to FFTF (Fight For The Future), another non-profit, unaffiliated organisation working for digital rights and security. It’s probably gonna be needed.
And on Saturday, Nov 12:th, 10AM PST, Desert Bus for Hope, Loadingreadyrun’s yearly charity drive for Child’s Play will start. (This is their tenth year doing this. These guys are awesome. Be there or be square.) It’s just a straight up good cause. I see no reason not to throw some money their way too.
Next week, I’ll find something else to donate to. As long as it’s a good cause, they’ll have my money.Â
Because the world needs some love right now.
