I never ever finished Star Wars Jedi Academy without using cheat codes. It's not that it was impossible, it's that it was boring.

I just finished watching She-Ra for the first time, and it was... Cute! I can definitely see some of the edges where they had to shorten things out of existence, but the story through line managed to survive!

But not *everything* still makes sense, so i have compiled a list of my Top Six She-ra Lore Things That Don't Make Sense, in the hopes that the 8 year old fandom can Help Me with explanations.

Why can Adora access her in space, but Glimmer can't teleport/do sorcery? Someone (Light Hope?) describes the sword as having a mobile Runestone, right? It's not like Adora took the broken sword hilt (with the gem) into space with her! Where is she getting the magical energy???

Once Shadow Weaver wasnt fucking around with the Black Garnet anymore, why did Light Hope's priorities not immediately switch to targeting Scorpia specifically? Like. Either send Adora to go get her re-princessed, or go send Adora to kill her so that maybe we'll have more luck with the next one, right?

How the hell did Light Hope control the og portal that Hordak made? How did she do that??

How lucky did Light Hope get that Etheria accepted Adora as the next She-Ra? Is it biological? Was she able to sort for that during The Whole Portal Thing? Is it personality/moral code/values? If Adora had cracked differently under Shadow Weaver and become more like s1 Catra, would She-Ra still have accepted her? That would be kind of messed up!

There's not, because it's a kids show that doesn't care, but I have to ask. Is there any lore explanation that can be scrambled together for How Space Works with Glimmer? she was not only in space without a space suit and sustained Zero injuries, when she was crying her tears were actively fleeing her eyes. ???

It's weird that the only ability non-She-Ra!Adora gets is... Reading ancient writing? Why can she access that in both forms? (Being biologically predisposed to know the writing system is.... Worse)

Shera in Space - Well, I.... I don't think there's a specific answer. My theory is that either Adora carries the magic within herself (a point hammered down repeatedly) and she doesn't need a connection to Etheria, or because Adora's not limited by the Sword anymore, she doesn't need an "internet" connection with the planet to use her magic. Meanwhile, Glimmer needs a connection to the Runestone, which has a planetary range. One of my theories is that Adora could act as a magic battery and share her magic with Glimmer, thus giving Glimmer the ability to use her power in space. Something to point out is Glimmer wasn't able to use sorcery on the Velvet Glove, but she was able to on Melog's planet, yet she still couldn't teleport because of the runestone. If you broke Glimmer's runestone, or if she brought a piece with her, maybe she could teleport in space. Wouldn't that be fun?

Scorpia and the Runestone in season 2 - Light Hope was in internal conflict for most of the show. Part of her wanted to follow the programming and part of her did not. In the season 4 episode "Protocol", we see the part of Light Hope that loves Mara get permanently deleted. This happens to be around the same time that Light Hope ends up telling Glimmer how to balance the planet. So, most likely, Light Hope was stalling on her task as much as possible. Additionally, frankly Adora wasn't good enough to go into the fright zone and reunite Scorpia with her runestone, but Glimmer was, and Glimmer would do it no questions asked. That's the story reason. The out-of-universe reason is they hadn't decided exactly what "balancing the planet" was yet. They had ideas very early on that the planet was a bomb but it took time to decide how that bomb would blow.

Light Hope hijacked the portal. She definitely has the power to do so. She has highly advanced space magic and Hordak's portal was trash. It's even implied she made her own portal to find someone like Adora, which accidentally brought in Hordak.

Etheria is forced to accpet Adora because of the Sword of Protection. Adora's First Ones DNA hijacks any authority the planet has on the matter. Adora was chosen by Light Hope, not by the planet. However, Adora synergised with the planet so well that she was able to create a new connection once the sword was broken.

You can survive in space for a few seconds without dying, funnily enough. She also had a teleportation aura around her, so she wasn't completely unprotected. But Bow had to act fast to pick her up, and it's really funny because Catra just yote her in space. I don't think Catra or Glimmer even knew how space works, they just rolled with it and luck was on their side.

The First Ones probably put a chip in her brain as a baby. It's within their repertoire.
