Sri Rama Navami, the divine appearance day of Lord Rama, is a special occasion to remember the glories of Lord Rama who is none other than the Supreme Lord.

Sri Rama Navami is the auspicious appearance day of Lord Sri Ramachandra. Sri Ramachandra appeared in the month of Chaitra (March – April), on the ninth day of the growing moon (Chaitra Masa, Shukla Paksha, Navami Tithi) and this particular day is celebrated as Sri Rama Navami every year. This year we celebrate the festival on April 2, 2020.

Sri Brahmotsava festival begins with Dhvaja Arohana. Brahmotsavam is an annual celebration commemorating the installation of Deities at ISKCON Bangalore temple.

The Supreme Lord descends in the form of Deities so that we get an opportunity to serve Him. The Lord is transcendental to our mundane senses. He cannot be seen with our present eyes, nor can He be heard with our present ears. To the degree that we have entered into the service of the Lord or to the proportion to which our lives are freed from sins, we can perceive the Lord

During this year's Rama Navami, let us go back in history and get a glimpse where Lord Ramachandra performed His pastimes, as recorded in Valmiki Ramayna.

The Lord along with His consort Sitadevi and younger brother Lakshmana entered the Dandakaranya forest to be in exile there for fourteen years. During their stay in the forest, Sitadevi was kidnapped by the demon Ravana, the King of Lanka. The Ramayana narrates the journey of Rama to Lanka in search of Sitadevi.
