Loneliness is a weird thing. It creeps up at your very lowest, the feeling, not the physical loneliness. You can be lonely even in a room full of people. It’s a dangerous foe, mind you. And not one who’d leave you alone. Loneliness will hide in the jungle around your mental castle. A castle you built long ago when you wanted to hide away from your demons. Now, you thought that building a castle would be enough, but loneliness, that sick psycho, makes sure that the party is never dull. It brings all your demons along with it. And no matter how strong your defence is, it’ll find a little weak spot. And then it’ll barge in through with a full bang! It’ll look at you directly in your eyes, with that nasty smirk and gloat. Boast about its victory. It even tells you about that little weak spot in your defences, that small hole which you overlooked, or the leak in the roof of your castle, and then laughs in your face. Tell you that it has been victorious and now you're scared. You're looking for safety exits, but you never made any safety exits. You never really thought anything could break through the gates of your mental castle; neither did you imagine that anything would ever be able to swim through the moat of your solitude. Well, if this wasn’t enough to scare you for your life, look toward that security breach and you'll see your demons lined up. They sense your fears and all that coyness vanishes. Now they aren’t timid anymore. They want to come in full force, and they do. Backed in the dark corner, away from any help, you scream, but to no avail. With a sinking heart, you realize that you must face your foes. And while you might have thought your castle would protect you, you now realize that you were bound to fail. You close your eyes. You feel like someone is calling your name. And you're back in a room full of people, forced to smile. See, loneliness is a weird thing, and, certainly, a foe not to be taken lightly.
