Muhammad Ali: - When I fought Ernie Terrell, I was talking the whole time. He wouldn’t call me my name. When I became Muslim, I gave up the name Cassius Clay. My name was Muhammad Ali.
-But he didn’t respect that. He kept saying, You’re Cassius Clay. I’m not calling you Muhammad Ali. You’ll always be Cassius Clay.
-I told him straight, you’re gonna call me Muhammad Ali right there in the middle of that ring.
-So during the fight, every round, I kept asking him. What’s my name? What’s my name? I’d hit him and ask again. What’s my name?
-He kept saying Cassius Clay. Over and over. But the punches kept coming with the question.
-By the seventh round, I asked him one more time. What’s my name? And this time he said it right. Muhammad Ali…Muhammad Ali…Muhammad Ali…
-That’s how you make a man respect your name.-
