I’m really excited for tomorrow, because the darling @morbid-kitty and I shall go on a little trip to our neighbouring Sweden. We won’t be visiting museums or looking at sights, though, because we’re in pursuit of makeup. :D There are no Sephoras in Finland, but there are a couple in Stockholm, so we decided to go on a little trip. 

I might even do a little haul photo when we get back. Would that interest you at all?

21: Whats your least favorite movie?

Out of the movies I’ve actually finished watching, Spring Breakers (2012) might take the first place. I absolutely despised the movie, but there were other factors in play as well. I went to see the movie with my (nowadays ex-) boyfriend in the cinema, so there was no escaping it. It was also my birthday, and the choice of movies (so not mine, I wasn’t interested in this particular movie in the first place, but didn’t know enough about it to really argue against it either) was just one of the many, many things that went wrong on that day.

The thing about betaing is that I’ve become even more critical of the fics I’m reading. In my head, I’m just constantly going ‘oh, this is not quite right’ and ‘how about this instead’ and ‘this needs to be developed further’. And if those points are too frequent, I need to stop reading. So, there’s a definite increase in fics that I’ve stopped reading long before the end...

Give me all the Pride and Prejudice things

I have finished my annotated edition and rewatched the 2005 movie (tomorrow I’ll rewatch the BBC version, *swoon*), which for all of it’s flaws, still makes me smile at the end, and I’m still in a P&P mood.

I have never read any of the “sequels”, pastiches or stories related to P&P, only the book (Ok, I have read P&P&Zombies and watched Death Comes to Pemberly, but that’s the extent of it).

Hit me with your favorite follow-ups, alternate view point tellings, hell let’s even include modern AUs in that too. If it’s about Lizzy and Darcy, I’m curious about it. It can be on AO3, published novels, graphic novels, whatever just throw your recs at me.

I do recommend The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, I find it to be rather well adapted and the characters are brought to modern day really well :D

For fanfiction purposes, do take a look at Jane Austen Fanfiction Index, where you can search for fics using different criteria from several archives. (Some of which do need you to be a member to be able to read them, though). If you log in with password info from Mrs. Darcy’s site, for example (MDSReader for uername and MrsDarcy for password, if I remember correctly) you’ll get to search for all the stories listed.

29th of February is Leap Day in Finland (Apparently, it was originally the 24th, but was changed at some point.) This is the day when it was traditionally acceptable for a woman to propose to a man. If refused, the man was supposed to give her enough fabric for a skirt. 

So, every leap year, there’s a tradition in my family to make jokes about who we should propose that 1. would have enough money for a good fabric and 2. would definitely say no to the proposal. I think I might have proposed to someone once, but didn’t get an answer besides laughter and no fabric. Very sad.
