Somehow the family managed to all get across, though Cash broke his leg. They really shouldn't be going to Jefferson, it's a stupid idea.

Our bridge is out, but the Bundrens are still trying to cross it. I think that is crazy.

The Bundrens placed Addie in her coffin(incorrectly) and are heading off to town.

Why are they going all the way to Jefferson to burry Addie? Vernon and I think it is crazy!

Vardaman just ran up to our house at midnight in the rain... I could just tell from the crazy way he was acting that Addie had died.

I'm visiting Addie today, she really isn't doing well. But the eternal and the everlasting salvation and grace is not upon her.

Addie is starting to fall very ill. I have faith that the Lord will heal her.. but if not I'll have the best cakes around!
