Sister-in-Arms: -> chapter as of 6/3/26: HERE (my bad)
"In the Mood" finally got its day in Masters of the Air. Let it be known that it was originally proposed in 1999 for Band of Brothers as a montage soundtrack to the 1944 summer of cancelled missions!
It is Joan of Arc's feast day, soooo... I did a thing.
SENTIMENTAL VALUE (2025) dir. Joachim Trier
im boutta have an aneurism from researching the Market Garden movements of Easy Company
every single day I log onto reddit dot com and see some guy from Band of Brothers get his name absolutely butchered by a middle-aged white man
guarno reckoning is coming
Reread some of my own writing, sad that author didn't write more though :(. I want to read that stuff, it's exactly what I like written exactly the way I like it :(. Please update!
idk if anyone has done this yet
waking up every single day to read people's stories in the tags is one of my greatest honors

LAURIE DAVIDSON as HERBERT NASH MASTERS OF THE AIR · part four — for @meet-you-at-the-north-star
finished MotA. Seeing Lemmons finally get to fly was the most beautiful thing in the episode to me. Not the American flag, not Egan and Cleven getting in their bomber. Maybe I have attached too much sentimentality to the act of flying, but thinking about paratroopers and bomber crews on a daily basis has me reflecting on the God-blessed feat of engineering that simply getting a crew into the air is. Not to mention mounting a bombsight and a full array of machine guns at almost every angle? Crazy. And the beauty of a mechanic finally getting to see the product of his work; breaking through the clouds scattering sunlight, the Dutch countryside, the dikes and windmills. Poetry.
Curiosity - what is your writing/posting schedule like considering SiA is such a big project? I've never written fan fiction, only read, so i'm really just curious LOL
Hi, thank you (again) for the ask! I pretty much try to work on SiA any night that I'm home. Often I get down somewhere between 500 and 1.5k if I make it across the initial waffling stage where I may be caught up in "research" (plying the depths of veteran blogs, raising my eyebrow at uncited wikipedia clauses, or ctrl-f-ing WW2 Gravestone, etc). The waffling stage is quite a monster. At times I have spent hours trying to lock in only to consult the BoB bible and end up scrolling it until I go to bed...
So all of this is kinda set up in an attempt to post weekly, with a goal chapter length between 7k and 11k words. I also keep a buffer of about seven chapters between the posted version and my draft backlog in case I need to retcon or reorganize the plot. And then if (1) a week has elapsed since my last update, and (2) I have added ~1 chapter's worth to material to my document: I'll edit the next chapter, run it through an html converter, and post! I used to have a beta(s) to wait on but no more (we die like paratroopers). Of course, life is unpredictable, so, like now, I am pausing uploads until I can sit down to write again.
I have no idea how most other ficwriters plan their stuff. I know of someone who basically prewrote their entire longfic and will release on a schedule. Others post their chapters right after writing and light edits. It really depends on the person. I have an attention deficit, so my solution to that is trying to brute force productivity by writing whenever I'm free. This is not a perfect fix, but it's better than waiting for inspiration to strike (it won't on its own).
And I'll close this excessively long answer with an encouragement: try writing a little! You never know until you try :)
for June: Who do you think readers would pair her with? Her relationship development with the easy company boys is so well paced that I could argue no one could properly guess her ship yet (which is great, who doesn’t love an oc-centric fic?) xx
Hi! Thank u for the ask!
I am glad you think the relationship development is well-paced. I, for one, am starting to feel the strain of the constant enmity and am relieved to be out of the training/bullying arc.
That aside, I've been putting Malarkey into the fic more lately, and when Webster transfers into E-Company before the Market Garden campaign, he is a frequent character. Roe has been nice to June since almost the beginning, so I can see readers pairing them. They have good chemistry and mutual respect for one another. Without really giving away my final verdict, amongst the aforementioned, I have considered Penkala, Buck, and Speirs for romantic interest, and I think some commenters have picked up on this.
Just to yap in general about my own fic: I didn't mean for it to be romance-centric which is why it's halfway complete with nary a boyfriend to be seen. June's relationship with the entire company is really the point of the piece (self-evident in the title) and a pairing is secondary to that. Also, some sort of inter-company relationship would complicate June's situation with the others. And if I know my OC at all, she would never participate in a situation that would make her further rejected from the group.
anytime i eat any cheese at all I just can't stop thinking about Winters's letter to DeEtta basically calling her a chopped chud for eating cheese
