CHERYL BLOSSOM in Riverdale, Chapter Seventy Five: Lynchian.
I’m going with you. Anna, no. Excuse me, I climbed the North Mountain, survived a frozen heart and saved you from my ex-boyfriend. So, you know, I’m coming.
@cordeliamaeveisms
sylvialopez:
usually, she had a hold on things. today? a rare occurrence in which sylvia had taken one too many of her oxys and had left the house before it hit. so now, she was smoking a cigarette on outside of church and it was fitting because she was praying that she’d gain some composure before going in there. a mane of silky head locks flashed before her eyes and for a second, sylvia thought it could be kenzie heading inside but- “shit.” of course she’d be here.
syl dropped her cig to the ground, stubbing it out with the the toe of her shoe. dressed way down, she was her normal height with a bare midriff, hair only pulled up by a trendy barrette on the left side. with ease, her arm slid around a pair of slender shoulders. cordelia was even smaller and thinner than her. no wonder aiden dropped her like a fly for something more unique. though she probably only wished to cuddle and that in itself was absolutely gag worthy. hot breath in cory’s ear, syl found her footing while the bouncer let them inside. “what’s sup cory? long time no see.”
@cordeliamaeveisms
one drink. that’s all she’d wanted -- hell, all she’d needed from the cloud she’d been sitting on. everything, god, for once in her life, seemed to have actually been going.. right. a good boyfriend, hopelessly in love, a best friend who’d always had her back, her sister -- well, nearly everything had been going right. each night that’d passed, where she was sure horror would follow her dreams had been instead filled with kisses and whispers of i love you’s and the promises of the futures. one, a year ago, she was sure she wouldn’t have had. one that she hadn’t thought was possible. especially not with someone as nearly perfect as aiden had been.
her slim figure squeezed past the bouncer, until a shoulder slithered around her shoulders, causing her to tense, fists clenching, ready to swing as hot breath heated her skin, shocking a soft gasp from her lips before mahogany hues turned to the small brunette who’d stood beside her. “jesus -- christ, sylvia! i was about to punch you in the face, what the hell?” she said, unclenching her fists as a hand came over her pounding chest, begging to slow the quickened pace, rolling her eyes at her words. “you know, same old. drinking, reading -- everything you find mundane and uninteresting except now i do it with a bit of better company -- very attractive, sweet, company,” cory murmured, a soft smile spreading across her lips as she turned to the one opposite to her. “you?”
realkenzieoconnell:
When Kenzie got the text from her sister asking her to lunch, she a little surprised. For the most part, they have been pretty distant since they had reunited when Kenzie first landed in Dayton. She wasn’t entirely sure how this meeting was going to go considering most conversations between them ended up just them bickering. That was partly Kenzie’s fault for how she is always so abrasive around her younger sister. Maybe that had to do with being the middle child, Kenzie was always going to be bitter towards her sisters. But it was something she wanted to work at for the sake of their relationship. She sat at a table at Losers. Such an odd name for a restaurant, she thought to herself as she looked over the menu. A drink that was totally different than what she expected was in her hand. Apparently lemonade meant something different in America. Looking up when she heard Cory join her at the table, a slightly forced smile on her lips. “Hey, I was starting to get worried you bailed on me.”
closed starter for @cordeliamaeveisms
okay, so perhaps having aiden sit in the corner of the restaurant was a little... co-dependent, but honestly? knowing he’d be sitting there brought down the levels of anxiety that seemed to course through her, tingling her body with the words that she’d been dying to say for the past year. dispel the rumours that’d been swirling -- but still, she never seemed to find the words. amber hues skimmed across the signage that sat out front, the flash of familiar red hair coming to vision as her gaze set onto her sister. it’d be easy to run. run and never look back. she doesn’t need to know just keep pushing. the words begged her mind to flee in the opposite direction, but the moment her eyes set on aiden, just across the restaurant, the fuel reignited, settling her nerves as she’d pushed through the door of losers, the forced smile pressing onto her lips as she sauntered up to the table, hands quickly grabbing for the chair before sitting herself down. “what? me? oh come on, a little bit of fashionable lateness is always in style,” she murmurs out quietly, cursing the words that escaped her lips, long lashes fluttering shut as she shakes her head, taking her seat. “sorry it’s just... it’s been.. strange, lately. still, i wouldn’t bail... we had an agreement. backing out? well, mum wouldn’t approve of that, would she?”
ryleighmeadows:
ryleigh rolls her eyes playfully. “don’t even worry about it, honest. things happen and we can’t control which direction we get pulled. i don’t need you to be around twenty-four seven for us to be friends, you know?” she teases cory gently, allowing the redhead to lead her back into the apartment, ryleigh just barely able to reach out and knock the door shut behind her. frowning slightly when cory utters the word nightmare, she’s pulling the redhead into the kitchen when her words stop in her throat. “i am baking– actually, we’re baking,” ryleigh motions between the two of them, eyeing cory’s outfit for a moment. “you’re going to need the apron, though,” she adds with a quiet laugh, disentangling herself from the redhead to cross the kitchen. stooping down next to the refrigerator, she pulls open the cabinet to snatch up one of the five apron’s she has on hand - though she never wears any of them herself.
“we’re going to make cheesecake. i have this delicious recipe i learned back in new york and i thought it’d be a fun thing for us to do together while we catch up,” ryleigh explains, crossing back to cory and holding out the apron to her. her own faded jeans and steven universe t-shirt with rose quartz depicted on the front is one of her go to outfits for her baking sessions. golden hair swirled up into a messy bun and she’s all set. on the island there’s two mixing bowls, several small bowls and ingredients needed to make the cheesecake. it’s a good thing she hadn’t completely shattered her favorite bowl the other night during her– ryleigh chooses not to think about it, having pushed past it. whatever happens happens. she can only control so much. she has to stop worrying so much. cory helps ground her. “so, i want to know everything, except not… everything, everything, but everything.” ryleigh beams, clapping her hands together before shuffling over to the small island.
“understood... still -- doesn’t make me feel much better about bein’ a crapper of a friend,” she murmurs out softly, and honestly? it’s true. her entire life had began to revolve around aiden, from morning to night he was on her mind, in her bed, his lips roaming around her body -- STOP. stop talking, stop thinking, this isn’t about the two of you right now, this is about you and ryleigh. this is your time. “w-we’re baking?” wide eyed shock echoes through her as eyebrows shoot up in surprise, quickly glancing around the kitchen for a fire extinguisher because -- well, if she was going anywhere near a stove or an oven, they’d need one. “ryleigh, darlin, i’ve burny water -- i tried cooking aiden eggs and i swear he got charcoal. i’m not allowed near things that create food and require fire. unless it’s a microwave, and even then --,” her words cut off as she flashes back to the ramen incident of 2015, shaking her head in horror at the memory that flashes within her head, a shiver sending itself up her spine at the mere thought before she hesitantly puts the apron within her grasp.
“it’s... it’s one of those no bake, cheesecakes, right? i mean. you don’t -- we’re not.. we’re not using an oven or anything?” the tall redhead asks, putting down her phone as she loops the apron around her neck, trying her best to tie it around, doubling up as she takes in a deep breath, trying to follow ryleigh’s lead, pulling fiery tresses of red up into a high pony. the expression that’s painted across each and every feature of her face is that of pure terror as she takes a once over of the ingredients that lays themselves out in front of her before turning her worried gaze back to the small blonde who’s hurrying up to her, begging for the details -- well, not details but pinpoints of the importance of a whirlwind that’s happened in the past week. “well um... he said.. he said he loves me,” the smile is beaming as she lets her eyes trail back to the ingredients, fingers fiddling with the locks that sit atop her head, tightening it a bit more as she lets out a soft chuckle. “i said it back and well then... let’s just say the virgin cory is dead.”
aidenoconnorx:
please don’t stop.
Music to his ears. Everything spilling from her lips, the whimpers, the moans, the curses– god, every fuck had his cock twitching, aching to be set free from its increasingly tight binding. all of it a fucking radiant composition, one he wanted her to recite over and over until she completely unraveled for him. he wanted her to remember the way he felt, the blunt of his nails digging into the supple flesh of her thighs as he held her close. the velvet feel of his tongue as it tasted her very essence, the vibrations as he moaned into her, loving the feel of her hips bucking, as she begged him to keep going, the sight of mischief in his eyes as they met, letting her know he knew exactly what he was doing. He wanted it burned into his memory, into their memory. and no force of will would stop him from doing just that. only one word held that power and by the way she whines, sending another pulse so strong he can’t help reach to pop the button of his jeans, he prays she doesn’t use it.
Denim loosening, he hums against her, the bit of relief allowing him to extend, his fingertips exploring, leaving trails of scarlet, as he murmurs against her. “don’t hold back, love. let yourself feel it. let me hear you,” there was no need for control. no need to hold back. not when they were both already so vulnerable. not with that delicate bundle of nerves catching between his lips or the way he drug his tongue along the length of her slickness, moaning her name at how absolutely soaked she was for him. “surrender,”
Her entire body had been on fire, bursting into flames under his very touch as his tongue to work its magic, causing her to tighten her to let her fingers slip from between the strands, opting instead to bundle the sheets in her hands as her back arches slightly off her bed, trying her best to keep his eyes on him though they begged to roll to the back of her head. Blunt nails digging into soft skin, the vibrations against the sensitive bundle of nerves as he speaks is her undoing. *Surrender. Dear god, she was sure she would never hear anything sexier for the rest of her years to come. Then again, Aiden was someone who’d seemingly continued to surprised her — she’d made a mental note that jesus, that tongue did far more than just speak beautiful words. Cordelia let legs relax in his grasp, trying her best to let her body unravel, though she found it hard as she edged toward her peak. “Never fucking stop, Aiden. Jesus, I didn’t think I could love yer mouth more,” she whimpers out, a loud moan chasing her words. Her stomach tightens her toes tingling the further he ventures, the more her jaw clenched, the ability to form coherent sentences escaping her completely as knees begin to buckle, and she can’t help but keep his gaze, let him know what he’s doing to her with every drag of his tongue, lapping up her juices as they leak out, her breath heaving as her nails embed their prints on the surface of the sheets, leaving their marks into the delicate fabric.
“I-I’m,” the words come out strained, almost begging him to push her over the edge of the mountain she’d been climbing into a pool of a complete and total ecstasy. The word repeating like a scratched CD in the back of her mind. Surrender. So, that’s what she’d do. “I’m so close baby, please, keep going. I’m fucking begging you, finish me off.”[10:09 PM]Pale flesh lifts of the mattress, her back arching as her head presses into the pillow, eyes lifting to the ceiling, a desperate attempt to regain any of the control she’d lost, though it fell mute with the next words that’s passed through her lips without a second thought. “God, I want you inside of me, right fucking now.”
aidenoconnorx:
The soft pads of her fingers skim the surface of his skin, hot with need and before he can speak, the thick gray material of her sweater is discarded, exposing her own pale flesh, a beautiful canvas that’s his to paint. His. The thought pulses, forcing him to take a shaky breath as his eyes drag over her torso, and fuck– she was exquisite. His hands trace her sides, slowly grazing the sides of her breasts and despite the urge to push forward and swirl her hardened nipples beneath the pads of his thumbs, he waits. He waits for her reply and he’s ready to accept it, whether that means finishing himself off in the bathroom down the hall or taking her right then and there. He’s not sure what to expect, but as she leans in, lips claiming his in a kiss that knocked what little breath he had out of him.
It’s a sensation he’s not felt before and if he didn’t know any better, he’d say time nearly stopped. His body was still burning, his cock still hard and uncomfortable in its confines, and he mind was still thick with desire. The fire in his veins hadn’t been extinguished…no, but it felt more…subdued. Focused. All with two little words.
“I’m sure.”
No, slowing down? It wouldn’t be a problem. Because this? He intended on enjoying, on savoring every second as he smiled and dipped his head to her ear, pressing another light kiss just behind her ear lobe, “I’m going to take very good care of you, my love. I promise,” he whispered, his hands working their way to finally cup her breasts as his lips worked their way down her neck…along her collar bone and down her chest, pressing a combination of nibbles and kisses until he was hovering, lips just above the puckered flesh. He pursed his lips, blowing warm air as his hands kneaded gently. “Make sure you talk to me,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “Tell me if it’s too much…” His eyes flickered up, hoping to make eye contact as he pressed a feathery kiss to her, before swirling his tongue around the sensitive skin and sucking it gently between his lips, his eyes never leaving hers.
this was it, every inch of her body felt like it’s been on fire, embers burning bright as the california sun as he stripped her body of the thin sweatered fabric that covered her lower half, along with her panties in one swift movement, a delicate hum of appreciation vibrating in the back of her throat. lips pressed together firmly, holding back any other noises that begged to drip off her tongue. His breath against her body as he made his way down, her body, her breathing heavy omg with every inch he lowered himself, fingers leaving soft pink marks as they marked their way down. Cordelia’s own small fingertips came up to rake through his hair, threatening to beg slightly before he even reached her wetting core, but before she even had a chance — he spoke.
he spoke and his hot breath against her skin, the sweet words he whispered out stopped her right in her tracks, relaxing as manicured nails gently scratch at his scalp. arms wrapped around her thighs, pulling her closer to his lips, and now, eyes are squeezing shut, a kaleidoscope of trees and bark surrounding her vision and disappearing within a second’s time. Breath hitching and a flurry of moans escaping her lips, and suddenly any control is lost, no longer in her hands but in the hands of a man who holds her close, in hinging her from the worries that spread through her mind. “jesus, fuck,” the small redhead is moaning out, her mouth gaped as fingertips tighten at the strands that sit in her grasp, breath hitching as he delves in. eyelashes flutter open, amber hues connecting to the pair of eyes that beckon her. “please don’t stop,” are the only words that escape her lips as the immeasurable pleasure takes over her, her voice whines as she tried to control what leaves her mouth, hips slightly bucking into him.

ryleighmeadows:
@cordeliamaeveisms
ryleigh needs this. not just because she’s genuinely curious and wants to know how everything had gone for her brother and cory and aiden’s version was no country home and garden article. cory would give her the actual details without the details, because she definitely didn’t need all of the details. she’s set aside time for them, though, has even made a grocery run to make sure they have all the fixins’ to make cory’s favorite dessert - old fashioned cheesecake, which happens to be something ryleigh perfected while living in new york.
she also needs this because there’s too much that’s happened since moving in with aiden, as if the universe decided to wait until she was comfortable before throwing curve balls at her left and right. stevie. laney. this carefully constructed life she’s created for herself, this persona she’d spent weeks driving cross country on perfecting was slowly crumbling because the universe fucking hated her. it had to, right? there was no other way to describe why her sister would turn up out of the blue, a sister she hasn’t seen in six years. or why she would automatically assume she’s runnin’ when nobody else has been able to figure it out. even when stevie asked, all ryleigh could do was cry on her shoulder. she couldn’t even tell her the truth. because it was like a bolt in her throat, wedged so tightly, if she let it go, everything would come pouring out and she couldn’t deal.
a knock on the door tears ryleigh from her thoughts and before she has a chance to answer it, cory’s breezing in in all of her wonderful glory. “listen, this whole week without my best friend thing? not cool. i know you’re busy fallin’ in love and all, but please don’t do that to me again,” ryleigh rushes to greet the redhead, curling her arms around cory’s waist, hugging her tightly. technically, cory hadn’t been with aiden at the cabin the whole time, but everyday lives just make it impossible to see everyone you want to in a day.
okay, so had she been a bad friend? absolutely awful, in fact. that was the only thing that rushed through her mind as she’d trudged down the stairs of the apartment building, opting for the bit of silence to escape from the thoughts that raced through her mind, escaping the little paradise they’d built for themselves in the dead of night when he’d finally come home to her. and the elevators -- god the elevator wouldn’t give her enough time to finger through those thoughts, filing them away the moment they’d popped into her head. it was a lot, all at once. the i love yous, giving herself over to him completely and while the most of the memories had been replaced with the image of aiden, she couldn’t help but wonder how much longer until it’d all set in, before a nightmare ripped her open, revealing the torn pieces that had been left behind.
that time would come, she was sure, but for the now, she chose to focus on the now. focus on the happiness that had settled around every corner, a shimmering beckon of how just a few months could change your entire life within what seemed like a blink of an eye. heels tapped against the concrete as eyes settled on the floor level, pushing through before she’d made it to ryleigh and aiden’s place, a fist coming to rap at the door, hoping she wouldn’t have to deal with much of the backlash from the fiery blonde that sat just beyond the threshold.
thankfully, all she was met with was a pair of shockingly strong arm wrapping thsemvles around her torso as she listens to her words, a series of giggles escaping her lips as her arms balance on her shoulders, enveloping her into a tight embrace. “i know, i know, i’m sorry, i got lost in your brother’s stupid eyes and i had a hard time comin’ back to shore, but i’m here now,” she mutters out softly, never letting her arms fall as she pushes them back into the confines of the apartment. “to be fair, it’s been a nightmare for me too, i’ve got a lot i need to tell y --,” words stop short as brows pull together, watching the mess of a kitchen and ingredients sporadically spread out. “ -- are you bakin’ because whatever it is -- i want 10.”
realkenzieoconnell:
Kenzie never understood the pressure Cordelia put on herself for keeping up the princess virgin image. She herself wasn’t a virgin, but then again, she wasn’t the baby of the family. Cory was perfect in their parents eyes and needed to keep up that imagine. And of course she was completely unaware of why the rumors were so wrong. She didn’t know what happened to her sister and the things she had to deal with because of what happened to her. When Cory said it was all lies, Kenzie’s eyes widened a little in surprise. How could she be so dense to believe lies and gossip over her own sister? “I’m sorry, Cor…” she said quietly, something she’d probably never admit again. For the first time, she could see how truly broken her sister was and “I didn’t want any of that. The last thing I want is to lose you. After- after what happened, I couldn’t imagine losing you for good. But then you left and came here.” She cleared her throat and her voice snapped back to her usual tone as if they didn’t just have a moment. “And now I’m here. This Dayton better look out.”
“are ya? because no one seemed to ask... everyone just seemed to assume, but then again, that’s Lismore for ya, huh? a sea of whispers without an ounce of truth. everyone just pretendin’ to be them best selves, no matter what cost..” it was enough being a pariah in a sea of familiar faces, in the hills where she grew and frolicked, lived and learned. but her own sister? honestly, a year ago, she would’ve believed the whispers if the roles were reversed, believed when she’d rejected to speak of it, as cory had done so many times before. but how could she whisper out the truth when everyone had been yelling out their lies? she would love to think she’s better than it, but when everyone was screamin’ the same story, it was hard to ignore it. let the thought sneak into your head, especially when the party involved was silent. the look of pity, god, that’s what she’d had been trying to avoid, the sad pools of blue hues that seemed to beckon for forgiveness for the victim. the one thing she’d hated more than anything else.“say it... after i tried to kill myself, what is so hard about that? it sucks, yes, and i’m.. broken, but just because i’m broken doesn’t mean you have to tip toe around me in fear of me just breakin’. i’m here. okay? i’m making the conscious decision to be here, everyday. all everyone ever did after it, was just dote and doddle around, tip toeing and treating me like i was this fragile thing, and i know i’m young, but i’m strong. that’s why i came here. because all of that? i wanted to leave it in the past, and if you want to be apart of my future, i suggest you leave it there too,” she mutters, her voice strong willed, cracking every so often, as she speaks and then -- kenzie’s back to herself, that confident spirit of fire that she’s always tried to imitate, that she’s always respected the most. “Yer bonkers, so yer actually gonna stay?” cordelia asks, her voice filled to the brim with shock as brows come together in confusion.
ryleighmeadows:
Home. Home didn’t have to be a place, but it could be a person. Cory was safe, Aiden was safe, both of them felt like what she assumes home should feel like. She thought she’d known what home felt like growing up, just her and her siblings, and while it’d been broken and a little mismatched at times, having her siblings had been home for Ryleigh. When they’d all dispersed, she constantly felt like a piece of her was missing, and now? There were too many jagged edges inside of her now, and it makes her wonder if home could even exist in a place or a person. Cory and Aiden are probably the closest she’s ever going to come to that feeling ever again. “Good. I don’t know what I’d do without you, Cory.”
Her eyes widen, because what? “Wait, I what? No!” Ryleigh is quick to argue, despite the hard flush that colors her cheeks. No, she hadn’t slept with Jackson. They might’ve done… a couple things, but she hadn’t slept with him. “Why would that— No, no, I helped someone ELSE make dinner for THEIR friend. Not… They were the ones getting laid, not me,” she clarifies her previous statement, her face so warm she’s probably about as red as Cordelia’s hair. Truth is, she hasn’t seen a lot of action since arriving in town herself, not that she’s been… actively looking. Okay, maybe there’d been a little active looking, but sex was one of those things that helped keep her mind occupied and there was honestly only so much baking someone could do (no matter how much they loved it) before that, too, got boring. “Ew! Cory!” She picks up one of the napkins and balls it to throw at her friend. “Seriously. I don’t need to know any of that, but I have a feeling Aiden will be spending all of his time at your place, so if you think about it, you’ll already be doing me a favor by keeping him busy.” Ryleigh shrugs, a small smirk dancing over her lips.
“I don’t think you need to worry. I… yeah, she seemed upset, but I think there was just a lot of miscommunication and once they talk it out, they should be fine. I hope. I’m not really sure how their friendship actually works?” Ryleigh muses aloud, leaning back in her chair. “You didn’t ruin a good time. We all had a great time in the end and I think that’s what matters most.” Ryleigh finishes off what’s left of her coffee, before she stands to take her trash and Cory’s to the trashcan. “You up for a little walk, or do you need to head back home already?” Ryleigh queries as she returns to the table, rolling her head back and forth to stretch out her muscles in her neck before her bright gaze settles on Cory’s face.
The smile that unfolds only screams kindness, because jesus, how could she be without her? When she’d met her, the hole that enveloped her, gauging at the open wounds and tearing her wide open but now? Now they’d slowly began to be sewed up, and part of that? A huge fucking part, is thanks to Ryleigh. “Good thing yer never gonna have to find out. Yer stuck with me, for life, babe. Even if yer brother decides to leave me, I’ll always be here. Lurkin’.” The words come out with a air of mystery, and a perked brow before falling into a fit of giggles.
She has to admit, she’s taken aback quite a bit when Ryleigh cries out in denial, eyes widening as she rolls her eyes, head shaking before taking another sip, finishing up the last bit of the sweetened drink, taking down the pastry in a mere few bites, leaving nothing but crumbs in it’s wake. “Well! You said you helped him with a lay, I thought that was Ryleigh code for ya shagged him, mind you, I’m not used to this whole shaggin for the fun of it, or shaggin’ at all, for that matter,” and god, she can’t help but laugh, watching as the beautiful face of paled perfect skin has flushed red, protecting herself from the napkin that’s thrown in her direction, picking it up from the ground where it lays. “Hey! No littering, if yer tryin’ to throw trash in a trashcan, you musta gotten us confused, I know, it’s an easy mistake to make,” Cordelia murmurs sarcastically, laying the piece of trash onto the table with a stern look. A terrible attempt to pull away from where her mind had wandered, thoughts of Aiden circling her head. “Oh I keep him plenty busy -- I’ve made him watch every Disney classic that new stream has to offer -- he’ll be crawlin’ back to you in no time, begging for trash tv reruns, I’m sure.”
“I hope so,” she says, getting onto her feet as her phone chimes out, snapping her from the stupor that Ryleigh’s ravelled her in, brows knitting together in concern as she looks back up from the text that sits across her screen. We need to talk. God, the universe worked quick with those jinxes, didn’t it? “How about a walk back to the apartment? Aiden just texted me,” the words are foreign as they leave her lips, because.. since when did he ever text unless forced, prompting to hear the sound of her voice instead, eyebrows threading together as she lets her phone drop back into her bag, a nervous chuckle escaping her. “I’m sure it’s nothin’... shall we?” she asks, extending her arm for her to loop.
aidenoconnorx:
Eager. Eager was putting it way too lightly. Restless. Zealous. Fervid. But mostly?
Hungry.
He was hungry for everything that was or ever would be with her. Two weeks. Fourteen days. It wasn’t a lot of time to fall in love, but god– with the intensity he felt for her…with the way her nails drug down his neck and the way her moans sent a symphony of vibrations through his being, fourteen days felt like forever. It was an eternity of heat and pressure and each grind of her hips, each tremble down her spine, tightened his core to the point he felt one more brush of her lips would tear him apart at the seams.
It was painful and yet worth it. Worth every giggle and smile and hitch of her breath. Worth the pleasure that seeped into his veins as he thought of her and when they would finally cross that threshold. The idea of her, relinquishing herself to him, trusting him to the point she’d share such an intimate experience with him, it made it worth any pain or discomfort. It numbed him to anything but the intoxication of her, drawing him in time after time despite knowing the only relief lie in his own hands. And he’d endure it. Over and over. If it took weeks. Months. Years. He’d would wait. It was worth it. She was worth it. But god– was he fucking starving.
Fingertips tug at the material of his shirt and he chuckles. It takes a second, maybe more before its rolling up and over his head, exposing his torso to the cool cabin air. It’s a stark contrast to the heat radiating from his skin and his muscles flex, discarding the wad of material as he dips toward her with a low but playful growl. It’s all he can do to slow the pace. To allow himself to savor the way their eyes meet, ocean hues crashing into deep auburn shores, and he breaths knowing he’s found home in them. But as he kicks at his own shoes and her teeth dig into the tender flesh of his neck, a groan escapes him and those words– they practically drip with desire, a need that sends a jolt straight through his core to pulse between his thighs.
They’d been here before, their passions splayed out, evident, and yet– this time felt different. He could hear it in her voice, in the way she moved, something had changed and as his fingers began to push up the material of her sweater, blunt nails scrapping lightly against her pale flesh, her words cemented it. He pulled back, eyes connecting once more, though his fingers didn’t miss a beat, working their way up her torso to brush his thumbs along the laced swell of her breasts, “Are you sure?” Part of him didn’t want to ask, but he knew better. As much as he wanted to, as starved as he felt, he needed to make sure. “You’re mine no matter how long it takes and I’d wait for you forever, you know that, right?”
Are you sure? That was the question, wasn’t it? Cordelia’s mind shifts back to the fevered dreams of that monstrous night, the devil’s grin flushed across his lips, ripping at the gown as if she were the last meal on Jesus’ table and they’d been ravenous, ripping away any right she’d had to her own.
A year ago, she would’ve said no, the flashes of hazed memories filling her head until she’d unravelled, a painting, once a beautiful masterpiece defamed and torn to shreds, the pieces of her canvas stringing until it’d fallen apart, hardly recognizable to the outside world. All the nights of mascara streaming past her cheeks as now brightened amber hues gazed off mercilessly into the blankness of what she had imagined would be her future. Because what had she become now? No one wanted pieces of a work of art -- they’d wanted the whole thing, because that value? Unmatched.
But that was no longer her, was it? She was no longer the untouched piece of art that hung from the Louvre, but rather an abstract mess that once pieced together? All the more beautiful, because you were meant to learn the meaning behind it, the story and the mindset behind it all. A mess, unforgiving and hard to understand, but once you did.. you appreciated it all the more. That’s how she’d chosen to see herself now, she wouldn’t let the villains take precedence, because at the end of the story -- there was always a happy ending. And Aiden? What they had? This was her happy ending. The villain would always lurk, but now? She’d chosen to overshadow them.
So when his lips beckoned at her skin, when his fingertips beg for another touch, she isn’t frightened. She’s not yearning to pull away from the scene that’s unravelling before it, because that face is replaced with a kinder one. One who promises to love and honour, respect and admire. Shaken breaths leave her lips as thumbs smooth over her hardening nipples, eliciting a light moan that hardly match the hungry groans that are falling from his lips and for once -- she’s not scared. Fingertips skim over his exposed skin, following to wear his hands rode up her sweater, gripping around the hem, her back arching as she lets it slip from her body, throwing it a direction that’s left unknown for the time being. She listens to his words, the way they spell out a story that she could read on forever, but this wasn’t a story, this was real. A narrative where the two of them co-existed in each other’s words, welcoming the other with open words and an open bed. A fresh start. Lips press into his feverishly, pulling back down into her, feeling his cock harden through the fabric that keeps it binded before she pulls away, her eyes crashing into the shores of the those blue pools of goddamn magic. “I know... and...I’m sure.”

He nods, a weak smile lining his features, “Yeah, we don’t see as eye to eye as Ryleigh and I do, so it was kinda a big deal. Kinda like a one night truce,” he shrugged, refusing to let his mind drift too far into it. They had plenty of time to talk about how shit his childhood was, but now was not it. Hearing the nickname fall from her lips, the thought of how her face might light up once they reached the stadium reset the tone. Once the text was sent, it didn’t take long to get a response. Everything was set, aside from what was in his pack, and he felt the familiar buzz of giddiness he had at the diner returning as he shifted the bag of fries in his grip. “I’ll keep that in mind,” he replied, his words trailing into a softer tone as her hair cascaded down her shoulders.
For a moment, he could see it. The two of them relaxing on a blanket by the lake, those fiery tresses blowing in the wind as he reads a The Fellowship of the Ring for the millionth time. The two of them high above the ocean waves, holding hands as the run and leap into the depths. The two of them snuggled tight in a car on the Ferris Wheel, the whole of Dayton and beyond laid out for them in one broad stroke. Or the two of them kissing in the rain, the thunderous sounds of the storm drowning out everything but their laughter. There were a million things he could see himself doing with her by his side. Some fun– exhilarating, others calming and intimate. Hell– if he thought long enough he was likely to imagine the not picture perfect snapshot. The good, the bad, and the heartbreaking…if he could see himself spending those moments with anyone? It would be her.
Aiden raised an eyebrow as he returned to the conversation and the pins slipped into her pockets. Right! The lock picking. It took a second, but he got there. “Hm? Oh– no of course not. As much as I love our walks and mornin runs, we have plenty of those. I wanted to do–” he paused, knowing if he said anymore all the time and energy he’d spent keeping it a secret would be wasted. And they wee so fuckin’ close to the finish line. “Nope, can’t say. You’ll see when we get there,”
Taking a deep breath to ease the bubbling nerves, he guided her in the direction he’d asked Jackson to set up. It wasn’t far at all, actually, and as they grew closer he could see the small golden lights in the distance. They seemed to almost float in the air, but he eyes adjusted and the outline of the structure came into view. Long flowing linen spilled down forming a canopy from the metal frame as it poured around the plush of a pillow laden mattress. And to the left, along the lip of the concert stadium, draped a large white screen, lit up bright from a small machine in the distance. He could hear the soft hum of the generator as it powered the twinkle lights and projector. Aiden grinned, shifting his gait to walk backward, eager to see her expression as they came upon their own little oasis. “Welcome to your home away from home,” he said, releasing her arm as he took another step and opened up the canopy to her. “Figured you can’t go wrong with dinner and a movie, am I right?”
a city of lights unveiled before her very eyes, mouth gaping at the scene that laid out in front of her, the pillows that line together folding out in front of the movie screen, the perfect front row seat to what she’d hoped would be the rest of her life, the lights, the canopy that would hide them away from the rest of the world’s cruel fate, encasing them in their own story book. What is she supposed to say? How is she supposed to react to this grand gesture, because jesus, she knew that romance had been woven into his very soul, but this? this is beyond what she’d ever imagined he could do.
she’s trying to take it in, take in every moment of this, like snapshots to add to her mental scrapbook, add to the story of what they were, how whirlwind and ridiculous this all had been, but the very thing she would hope she’d never lose, because this? the words beg to drip off her tongue, but she knows better, holds them back as she finally speaks.
“you.. you did this for me?” she asks, because she knows her worth, but even in the grand scheme of it all, how much had she actually to him? when did her worth become a sea of treasures discovered at every passing turn? “i love --,” her words cut as she braces herself, a staggered breath coming from her lips as she turns her gaze to the grinning man who’s standing in front of her, her eyes welling as his grand plan is laid out in front of her very eyes. and god, he truly hadn’t held back when it came to his surprises, had he? everytime she’d thought she had him figured out, another bend propped itself up, beckoning her attention back to the reason she’d fallen for him in the first place. fallen -- no, she was still falling and she’d curse whoever caught her because this feeling? it wasn’t one she’d trade for anything else in this words “i love it,” she whispers out softly, ducking her head to slip past the soft tulle, letting her body fall onto the pillows as she drags him in behind her, her lips quickly capturing his as the lights of the movie plays behind them, unattended and forgotten, because the only thing that could possibly catch even her slightest bit of attention was the man who she held in her very grasp. the one who she’d promised she would never let go of, but begrudgingly, she pulls away, her smile ever present as she keeps her gaze on those pair of ocean eyes.
in those eyes, cordelia swore that if she’d looked hard enough, she could see her future. the endless surprises he would bestow unto her, the copious mounds of tender kisses and beautiful words, gorgeous poems he’d slipped beneath her door after the night they’d met. awakening to that toothy grin that seemed to melt his body into his, awakening to the groggy voice that had taken over in the moments of sleepiness, even the pulls, beckoning her to leave her bed and stomp out the cardio that he’d dragged her into every morning, and while her heartbeat would quicken during those runs, nothing amounted to how hard it beat in this very moment. because this... she’s sure this is the moment she’s truly fallen in love. the one who’s truly stolen every bit of sadness and replaced it with a giggle and a smile, burying the memories that plagued her at night and replaced them with hums of encouragement and strong arms, helping her lift herself from the squallers of depression where she’d once resided, helping her along the way. “you are an enigma of a man, aiden o’connor. never change.”

How do you like to be comforted when you’re upset?
“hair stroked and quiet, you know, no one saying a word. which is weird, because you.. you would think that bein’ left with yer thoughts should be a sin, but as long as someone you care about is there with you? holding you and just making sure you know they love you? that’s all that can really help. that or copious amount of trash tv and a book.”
