Help Isn't on the way // One Shot
He started the computer up and began scrolling through the blog as he usually did. It was rare that anything would really catch his interest but tonight something did. People were talking about some sort of pool party. Usually he wouldn't even look twice at something like that but tonight he felt like going out. He was especially tired today even though he hadn't done shit but he felt like going out might make him feel better tonight. He didn't want to see anyone he just wanted to be one of those people that blended in the crowd. After debating it with himself whether or not he should go he finally decided he would just stop by and see if it was any fun.Â
As he was getting dressed he started to think about going alone and the idea got less and less appealing. He thought of people to invite but didn't want to bother anyone in the family. Especially not Terror or Asher because they would've surely already had plans for the night. He pondered on the people to invite but of course there was only one person he wanted to see there. Event though he knew he shouldn't text her couldn't help it. There was always that drive that made Corey Jones want Kate Bishop more than anything in the world. Maybe it was the fact that he couldn't have her but whatever it was, he couldn't help it. As he sent the first few texts he just waited for her to reject him again. Why did he even try anymore? The only time she ever wanted to see him was when she need someone and nobody else was available. But maybe this time would be different, at least he hoped it would be different.Â
Once they finally made some plans and decided to meet at the party he slipped his jacket on and went out the door. He exited the building and started heading down to the party when he got an uneasy feeling in his stomach, he could feel someone watching him. He looked behind him only to see nothing but pitch black illuminated by very few street lamps. Despite the constant feeling of eyes on him he kept pushing forward following the noise of the party. As he was walking he could see a few figures stepping out of the shadows. He got nervous and decided to text Kate. He told her he might have a problem and could be a little late. As he sent the text he looked up and saw the figures move towards him at an unsettling pace. He turned to the closest assailant and was met with a powerful blow from a baseball bat to his face. As the bat met his flesh and it was turned to hardened medal it was shattered. Corey retaliated with his fist and managed to knock the man unconscious with a single blow. When he turned around he was that was hopelessly outnumbered and attempted to run while establishing a telepathic link to Terror. He grabbed his arm and barely got a few words out before a rope was wrapped around his neck and he began to suffocate. He was thrashing and attempting to get the man off oh his back when two more grabbed him and slammed him into the ground. He let out a scream for help but it was cut off as the rope was clenched tighter around his throat. All he could see was the single street lamp shining down onto him as he slowly slipped into unconsciousness. As he tried to take his last breath he opened his mouth to scream one last time and nothing came out. He had no idea what he had done or who had attacked him but he knew had lost and now a grisly fate awaited him.Â
