âDancing and drinks. Sounds good.â Anything to get her mind off of what she saw. But that wasnât really uncommon for this place. âUgh. Okay. While we get a drink, tell me about something else.â
âYes!â Cori beamed, suddenly bursting with excitement to get herself and her friend on the dance floor. If there was one thing she knew how to do, it was play just as hard as she worked, and it had been far too long since Cori let loose. âShould I tell you about the gentleman who insisted I was an escort?â asked Cori as the two of them made their way over to the closest bar.
amandaxcaseyâ:
Amanda always admired Cori, the woman was always so good to her. There were times she missed being her assistant. She knew things would be so way less complicated in her life if she still were. âThat sounds amazing actually. I would love that.â she beamed
Cori smiled back, standing and looped her arm through Amandaâs. âGreat! Let me show you my favorite spot and you can tell me all about how much you missed working for me and our spa days we used to have together.â

gracelamurphyâ:
Grace couldnât help the quizzical look taking over her features. It was one that certainly said how little she believed Cori. With both of their experiences as of late, she was sure that theyâd both wanted âplentyâ. Though, she couldnât speak for Coriâ only herself. She just had her gut instinct to rely on up until this moment.   That look disappeared a beat later with an 'ah hahâ one. Grace could agree that theyâd both been reckless. Experiences had been had. Things had changed in such a big way. Rather than responding vocallyâ at least immediately, Grace couldnât help herself. Her arm wrapped around the smaller woman. Her lips pressed to the side of Coriâs head. âI just donât want to lose you,â she murmured. Her voice was something she hadnât heard before. Not with herself as it lacked all the certainty it generally garnered. âI canât.â
Watching the suspicious look on Graceâs face, Cori felt her heart sink a bit. But she didnât blame her. At face value, Coriâs words and actions didnât exactly match up very well. However, the expression changed soon enough and she let out a small sigh of relief. She couldâve almost cried when Grace kissed her head, a gesture she hadnât received in far too long. Being in her embrace, Cori felt whole again. She nodded.    âI canât lose you, either. Youâre everything to me, Grace.â She met her eyes, searching for something, she wasnât quite sure what. Acceptance, forgiveness, warmth. âAnd Iâll do anything to keep you.â
emelia-vitaleâ:
âIts not funny! Iâve seen and experienced some big dicks and dildos but that⌠was a monstrosity. I just pray there was a lot of lube. A lot. Like a whole bottle.â Her face still one of disgust, she shook her head. âI need a drink. Something to make me forget.â So she was being a bit dramatic, any excuse to drink and let loose.
âOkay,â Cori said while she attempted to reign in her laughter. âOkay. Itâs on me. I feel like youâre gonna be having some intense nightmares for a while, so itâs the least I can do. Whatever you want, girl. And we can go dancing, totally get your mind off it. Howâs that sound?â
calliebriggsrpâ:
Callie nodded. âWhen I read I want to go away. I want to be saturated from the very first page with a sense of wonderâŚof otherness. Itâs why I read science fiction and fantasy the most. Thereâs magic there, it reminds me of the first time I picked up a fairytale as a kid.â When she kept the rest of her life rolling, moving, ever shifting, books were a secret subtle stability, allowing her to feel like she was still moving even when she was taking a moment to stand still and breathe. âI actually have a hard copy of it with me if you want to borrow it.â
âI couldnât agree more. You know, you are such a gem. Howâd you end up here, if I might ask? You donât seem like the usual.â Most people did have more underneath the surface, especially if questioned but Callie still stood apart from the rest of the people Cori had come across since boarding the ship.Â

emelia-vitaleâ:
âI walked into the bathroom and there they were⌠she was fucking him with the biggest dildo Iâve ever seen. He was bent over the sink. I just⌠to each their own but lock the door next time.â Emmy sat there, a frown on her face as she stared at the floor.  âI think Iâm traumatized for life.â
@coriihere
Coriâs wide-eyed expression of shock only lasted a few moments before she burst out laughing. âIâm sorry. I shouldnât laugh. Thatâs just the most ridiculous thing Iâve heard for a while, even if Iâm not entirely surprised. I will tell you this, though: Iâm glad it wasnât me.â
amandaxcaseyâ:
Amanda laughed at Coriâs joke. The dark brunette always had a soft spot for the woman. She was the first person to take a chance on her. The person who gave her her big break. âI guess you could say that.â she said with a nod. âIâm sure heâs around here somewhere.â she said, waving her hand in the general direction of the room. âI should have known, youâd work in your sleep if it were possible.â Â
âYou know me too well,â Cori said, which wasnât too far off from the truth. The two of them had worked closely over their short time together. At times Cori was in much better contact with her than she was with her girlfriend, an embarrassing fact that stung a bit to recall. Nevertheless, Amanda was a welcome sight to see--the two of them always got along well. âHey, do you wanna catch up over dinner, or something? My treat.â
hazeemsiddiqâ:
âOh I donât have any actual evidence to back up my claims but for just a moment you were completely convinced that it was the most sincere thing you had ever heard.â Hazeem said with a large smile and a light laugh. In general, he was just a man who reached out to others. Who saw their strife and longed to fix it. Or at least relieve it. âGreat. Any requests? I have all the time on this ship so far too long doesnât necessarily exist.â
With a playful roll of her eyes, Cori chuckled with a shake of her head. âAll talk and nothing to back that up? Iâd imagine that might get you into trouble every now and then. But Iâll let it slide. Iâm in the mood for beer, actually.â It wasnât her usual drink, but it had been quite a while. âAlthough if youâre offering, maybe I should get something a bit fancier.â She lifted her brows in question, predicting that heâd have a drink or two to recommend.Â
miloaldenâ:
âwe donât have the time to unpack that question right now. and iâm far too sober. who hasnât hurt someone, am i right?â he raised his eyebrows as he took his cold brew off the table and took an obnoxiously loud sip. âyeah, but you canât be that straight up rude in the south. you gotta make âem think youâre being polite. so you bat your eyelashes a few times with a fake smile and whisper âbless your heartâ and thatâs basically a TKO.â he allowed his own accent seep harder into the bless your heart before bursting into a real smile. âi frankly appreciate a good fuck you. youâve got my respect.â his eyes fell to her tea. âyou know we make a great sweet tea in the south. why are you drinking that?â
Well, damn if that wasnât true. Everyoneâs been hurt and hurt others. But healing was a different story, one that was far too heavy for a conversation with an almost-stranger. Cori nodded, a smile growing before a wide-eyed look of abashment took over. âI canât actually answer that. I have no idea. Itâs hot as hell today, too.â She let out a short chuckle, shaking her head at herself. âYouâre making me look bad. Damn, I really havenât been home in way too long. Are you from here, too?â
