Kali'a is a name not known to many in Natlan. If you asked the locals of the People of the Springs about this name, they'd simply shrug and shake their heads. Now, if you were to ask them if they have seen a girl with the tail of a whale, most will immediately reply with a yes — since, of course, something as peculiar as that would be difficult to forget.

But few have gotten the chance to talk to this girl. Whenever she is seen, she is usually several feet offshore, and will dive back into the water before anyone can get the chance to take a closer look.

But even if she is not as well-known to the people on land, Kali'a sure makes her mark. With her guidance, spirits taking the form of sea creatures find their way safely home, where they find peace and comfort in the waters of the sea far from shore.

Haha, I know what you're thinking; how do I manage to always make it back home during the holidays? The answer's simple; Heiyaoshi, of course! He's got the solutions to everything. He did a bunch of math and figured out how long I'd have to be deployed to earn enough days of leave for my birthday, so thanks to him, you're seeing me today!

Next time I see him, I gotta give him the biggest hug ever...

Heiyaoshi hated the rain. The sky turns gray, the rain soaks up his clothes and makes them stick uncomfortably to his skin, and when it rained there was always that lingering feeling that thunder would strike when Heiyaoshi finally decided to let his guard down.

So he'd never understood in a million years why he was out in the rain now, laughing and smiling without a worry in the world, not even the water in his hair or his clothes or even the possibility of thunder. He was laughing. Laughing as his lover spun him around in a large puddle upon Liyue Harbor's stone floor, and somehow, the thought of slipping never crossed the skittish man's mind.

Cornelius always did the talking around Heiyaoshi, so no one could understand why he was speaking no words now, and the only things that came from him when he opened his mouth was his sonorous, childlike laughter.

It's quite strange to see, isn't it? Two young men laughing and dancing in the rain, as if nothing could ever bother them. It does make one wonder; what about the other made them seem both so carefree in a world like this?

🪻 Happy birthday, Heiyaoshi!

The moon seems extra bright today, doesn't it? But the world hasn't slumbered quite yet.

Although I do love basking in morning sunlight, I find nighttime a little more... familiar, maybe? The gentle breeze and faint starlight are like a lullaby, and it's always a blessing to have such a calm night after a busy day.

Today was wonderful. Cornelius saved up his days of leave just to visit me on my birthday — he took me to every single shop in the harbor that gave out birthday discounts, and he also got me so many little gifts and desserts. I have to figure out how to pay him back tomorrow...
