pomni is a jester because no one takes her seriously send tweet

warning episode five spoilers (not huge but more backstory stuff)

all the other characters represent something about their past or their roles in their life before the circus-- at least that's something we can assume through the behavior portrayed in each of the characters

i've seen people do analysis on each of the character dynamics and what their roles are and how it's specifically portrayed in their appearance (for example, zooble being body dysmorphia, or gangle wearing a mask to perform)

but with pomni, i feel like it was hard to pinpoint what her dynamic is in the group when it came down to her appearance as a jester and her personality being reflected in the group.

now bare with me here, but the jester- historically, and the complex of the fool- is literally the purpose of not being taken seriously. jesters would perform infront of royalty, and they were allowed to make fun of the king and queen or anything else because they were apart of the court, no matter what commentary they were making.

now, pomni reveals in her backstory that she was a youtuber, objectively one of the most made fun of and discounted career path people make in the modern age. pomni is constantly being infantilized by the group (think episode two where ragatha is told by pomni that she's "not a child," and that she "doesn't have to hype her up.") Not only is her age constantly being made fun of, like in episode five with jax poking fun at her for "being too young" for a job.... but she's constantly thrown into situations where she isn't able to be taken seriously, or is just seen as some comedic value-- like being a bridge between the two war rigs, being tossed into the super scary path by jax, being kind of talked down upon in episode five.....

I just have a lot to say about the character dynamics and how you can see that pomni doesnt hold herself in high regards, and the other characters--npcs or not--don't really take her seriously.

feel free to add to the conversation or just watch the episodes with this in mind because it kinda reveals another layer imo

update: the piece of the rubix cube i have seemingly wasn't a piece specifically found on screen- at least im unsure- i'll have to watch i think one or two more episodes when i get home- buuuut if it is a piece that doesn't have a specific like place/story of how it was found- then i have creative freedom *evil laughter*

COTC SEARCH FOR LORE SPOILERS- OH AND SLIGHT OPPOSITE DAY SPOILERS

my god this episode was so good so many funny and significant things to note just from this one episode

1- these kids just go around and destroy so much stuff with no regard to what it is i love it- like with xavier's drones- the four of them completely smashed these expensive pieces of technology 😭😭😭

2- elder marks character gets so much insight in this episode- not only does it show how deep his relationship with kenneth was (i.e. "kenny" and the way kenneth adresses him without any "what's up" or "yo" kinda conversation fluff that he does with david and barry) SECOND of all- it shows that mark is easily driven by jealousy- which isn't something that's necessarily new as we see his short fuse in other episodes- such as when jerry stole the sword- mark snaps at david and barry a lot in that episode- and then in the dibs court episode- mark snaps at that other kid (i don't remember his name). not only does this episode solidify marks personality but it also solidifies his motives

3- what is gonna happen to the elders???? david and barry left- saying mark is the one who hasn't changed- (GOD I LOVE CHARACTER DEPTH)- david said he'll do something productive- probably getting a job or leaving the creek momentarily- barry also followed david out- presumably also leaving the creek momentarily. mark is also seen alone in the future episodes a lot-
