Why are so many people called Ian? It's getting out of hand... stop

Bear in mind that John, Jonas, Ioan, Ewan, Juan, Shaun, Johann and Jean are also versions of the same name. Ian is a Scottish rendering of the ancient Hebrew name, which means literally, "He whose name is very common."

According to namenologist Ian Johannes Johnsonsen, "Ian is a popular name because people named Ian are known to be simply better people than non-Ian people or 'Unians' as I call them. Ians are better at math and science, better at sports, and much better in bed than Unians."
