BLÅHAJ MY BELOVED💙
Throwing my hand into the Vanessa Afton crackship ring
My officer gfs who were both betrayed and stabbed in the exact same spot
It's actually pathetic at how bad Scott handled these two, I was hoping to see these two as a messy couple just trying their best to move on but they barely had any real screentime just talking together other than the dating scene and the one outside Mike's house and then he gives us this half assed conflict between these two that makes Mike have a whole 180?
Scott tried so hard to make a conflict between the two when it doesn't make sense at all and just makes Mike have a total 180 to even make it happen
If you were gonna make a conflict at least make it good and emotional Scott
While I do think the conflict was mishandled, I don’t think Mike’s actions at the end came from nowhere. From the start of the movie, at the dinner scene, it’s obvious that Mike knows that Vanessa is not trustworthy. She lies to him about having friends, and he knows she isn’t telling him everything. This is confirmed to him throughout the movie and boils over when his sister is possessed and almost killed by the marionette.
However I do think it was mishandled. We don’t know where this initial mistrust of Vanessa came from. It obviously started before the events of the movie, but not knowing what spurred it made it seem like it came out of nowhere from the start of the movie. While Mike’s actions at the end are justified, it’s confusing how we started that journey.
RANDOM THOUGHT ABOUT POSSESSED VANESSA!!!
This might not make any sense at all because I have only watched the movie once and might not be remembering correctly, but...
Is Lisa (Mckenna Grace's character) killed instantly like her friends? Is she killed after the puppet is done inhabiting her body? or does she die BECAUSE she was possessed for so long?
At the end of the movie we see Abby being possessed as well but just for a short bit, and still, when she comes back to herself she's clearly struggling like it was exhausting/damaging for her body.
CAN being possessed by Puppet kill you?
HOW LONG IS VANESSA GOING TO BE POSSESSED?
I don't really see Vanessa dying because of THAT as a possibility but... (call me crazy) if she's walking around with Puppet controlling her body for a ridiculously long amount of time, COULD this possibly lead to a half-dead, half-alive situation like Michael Afton in the games after he was scooped?
Idk maybe what I'm saying is too far-fetched and would need a lot more to make sense but I'm totally biased about "scooped" Vanessa this is the closest I can get. We can dream.
I have my own theory that piggybacks off of this. I think the reason Lisa’s life force was drained so quickly was because Lisa’s consciousness was actively fighting the puppet.
There is a very stark difference between how Lisa is possessed versus Vanessa. Lisa is seen thrashing on the ground, her body contorting as the puppet fights for control. She’s in a completely different spot from when the puppet first attacked, so we can assume Lisa put up a good fight. Even if the puppet was victorious in that possession, Lisa’s consciousness still may have been fighting. That constant push and pull could be what caused her to die so fast, Lisa’s energy was being drained because she was exerting it.
On the other hand you have Vanessa’s possession. There is no struggle. There is no contorting of her body. She doesn’t even move. There’s no fight as the puppet possesses Vanessa. Because of the lack of fight on Vanessa’s end, Charlotte doesn’t have to actively take more energy than she can use. It’s basically like having another body. This is at least my theory.
I have my reasons as to why Vanessa was so quick to let the possession happen, and if you are interested you can continue reading. Basically, she feels like she has nothing. She just abandoned Michael, her biological family, and was abandoned by her chosen family. She is also wracked with guilt for her and her father’s past, so when Charlotte possesses her it’s not like she feels like she has anything to lose. If anything, she’s doing Charlotte a favor. She’s giving Charlotte a chance to live the life that was taken from her.
If you want to contrast that with Lisa, Lisa had plenty to lose. She had her friends and her career going for her, and that’s just what we know about. She had things to fight for that Vanessa just doesn’t.
“but mike hasn’t made any advances towards will!!”
you guys. did we forget where we are and what time period we’re in. he is the only son of a heterosexual republican couple in the midwest in the 1980s, when the AIDS pandemic was in full force. he has been bullied all his life by other kids who have made homophobic comments towards his friend. you expect me to believe he isn’t in deep denial? argue with the wall.
I thought this was about the FNAF movie and got really confused
Abby’s arc in the FNAF 2 movie was like yay science fair ^-^ i love hanging out with my friends
meanwhile vanessa:
FNAF 2 SPOILERS
So like what are we calling possessed Vanessa? Vanionette just looks weird, we don’t know if it’s Vanny yet, like idk. I’ve just been calling her Charnessa
Vanessa Afton in nutshell
Are there any furries that would be interested in doing an interview about their fursona(s)?
Hi there! I'm doing a project on fursonas and their development for a college level fandom studies class, and I need people to interview. All questions will be SFW, and I can send them before the interview.
If this sounds interesting please send me a DM!
I rewatched the first FNaF movie to gear up for the sequel, and some things about Vanessa's dialogue stand out to me.
Specifically the conversation between her and Mike at the police supply outpost. When she starts talking about William, her father and a child murderer, she seems to use somewhat childish(?) wording. It sounds a bit condescending to describe it like that, but I don't know what else to call it.
Not only does her voice shake a little, but the way she talks about him to Mike ("He was a very bad man. A very cruel man. Also a very clever man."), it seems like something you would expect a child to say about a villain. It's very simple and straight-forward. Children tend to lack filters and/or awareness, so they speak very matter-of-factly.
So, when she says that, I think Vanessa is sort of regressing to a more childlike state. Both as a result of childhood trauma and because that's what she feels like in that moment. She feels like a child as she's talking about her father.
Other people have already pointed out how William even treats her like a kid during the confrontation in the pizzeria, equating her standing up for herself and her friends to her having a temper tantrum.
In addition to that, Vanessa is also speaking quite slowly. She sounds fearful, hesitant, and a bit out of it. There's a pause between "He was a very bad man," and "A very cruel man." She's not looking at Mike when she says this, either. It seems like she could be reliving her trauma or having flashbacks to the source of her trauma—whether this trauma is from possibly witnessing the MCI, or from abuse at the hands of William, or both.
There's also the moment where Mike tells her to come with him and Vanessa refuses. It's obvious that she'll refuse just by the way she reacts before she outright says it, like she's surprised or even a bit annoyed that Mike wants her to go with him. Then she's stumbling backwards and busying her hands.
I think the words she uses to justify staying at the outpost instead of confronting William are very interesting.
"I won't be any use to you, believe me."
Instead of saying something akin to, "I won't be able to help you," she highlights and emphasizes her usefulness, or the lack thereof. This makes me think that not only did William see her as a tool more than his daughter, but he made it clear to her throughout her life that that's what he thinks of her and therefore she also measures herself by her usefulness.
So, yeah. I don't know if this has been talked about before, but her lines and the way she says them (especially pertaining to William) really intrigued me.
Oh they are really putting my girl through it aren’t they
